Plenty of options for Utah transfer OL

Since entering the portal one week ago, Utah OL Tyler Knaak has piled up the offers. Who is involved, who is he visiting and when will he decide?

Young offensive linemen are always a hot commodity in the transfer portal, so when redshirt freshman Tyler Knaak of Utah made himself available a week ago, schools quickly lined up.

Since officially entering the portal last Thursday, Knaak has seen offers roll in from Nevada, Central Michigan, Hawaii, Liberty, Utah State, UMass, Old Dominion, Appalachian State, Southern Utah, Utah Tech, Weber State and most recently Buffalo on Wednesday night.

However, Knaak is no stranger to a hectic recruiting process. He juggled plenty of offers coming out of high school before trimming his list of top schools to Utah, USC, Oregon State, Arizona State and Virginia which eventually led to his Utes commitment.

While both processes have been hectic, he has noticed some differences between the two.

“Although my high school recruiting was fast, this feels like I’m speed dating,” he said. “The pace and ability to form connections are probably the biggest difference.”

He also noted that aside from the offers he already has, consistent interest is also coming in from Stanford, Arizona and Temple.

Next up for Knaak will be some official visits. He is looking to start that next weekend, which gives him some additional time to sort out all of his options. He then hopes to make a decision on his next school by the end of the month which would have him at his “new home” in early June.
