Portal Fact or Fiction: DJ Uiagalelei to Oregon, TCU Loading Up, Javion Cohen's Destination

In today’s Fact or Fiction — transfer portal edition — I look at three big recent topics from the transfer portal and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. DJ Uiagalelei will land at Oregon.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

I’ve heard the Ducks have shown interest and there is interest from the Uiagalelei side as well especially with his younger brother, Matayo, interested in the Ducks as a 2023 5 star. But this won’t happen as the Ducks won’t push. Dante Moore is the key here and he visited UCLA recently, a school many feel will land DJU. The Ducks aren’t going to play around here and will be all in on Moore and perhaps take a slam dunk portal QB like Hudson Card if he wants to come. But there are too many concerns that DJU to the Ducks might push Moore to the Bruins even if it’s a small chance.

2. TCU is about to load up.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Welcome to the Horned Frogs JoJo Earle and Chris Marshall. The Alabama and Texas A&M transfers are looking like locks to Sonny Dykes and TCU and the reason why is one Malcolm Kelly. The former Sooners WR star is one of the hottest recruiters in the game and is relating to players at his old position like no one else. The playoff momentum will be large in the portal.

3. Miami leads for Alabama OL transfer Javion Cohen.

Farrell’s take: FACT

USC also stands out and it’s very early for the Alabama OL but watch for Miami here. Mario Cristobal has made him a priority and the former OL relates well to current players at his old position. This is a natural fit.
