In Mike Farrell’s Fact or Fiction — Portal Edition — he figures out if Theo Wease to Missouri is more impactful…

In today’s Fact or Fiction — transfer portal edition — I look at three big recent topics from the transfer portal and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. Theo Wease to Missouri is bigger than Andrew Armstrong to Arkansas.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

Wease may have high school star ranking edge and he’s a nice addition for Missouri for sure but wait until you see Armstrong. This kid has an amazing wingspan, speed to burn and put up over 1,000 yards on 16.4 yards per catch last season at Texas A&M-Commerce. He’s also a red zone nightmare for defenses and had 13 scores last season. Both have upside but Armstrong is the better prospect.

Oklahoma’s wide receiver Theo Wease (10), center, runs for a touchdown against Texas Tech, Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022, Jones AT&T Stadium.

2. Jestin Jacobs to the Ducks will impact the PAC-12.

Farrell’s take: FACT

I love Jestin Jacobs and the Iowa defense did a great job without him this season which has him a bit forgotten and overlooked. This kid is long, rangy and can cover and if he stays healthy he’s going to be a huge key for Dan Lanning. And trust me, the former defensive coordinator at UGA and now head coach at Oregon covets this kid.

Iowa linebacker Jestin Jacobs (5) lines up during a NCAA Big Ten Conference football game against Illinois, Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City, Iowa.

3. Traeshon Holden to Oregon is a big deal.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

I’m not excited. Holden has shown promise but he’s also erratic and inconsistent. Four drops doesn’t sound like a lot over a season but they were big ones and I never saw him step his game up for Alabama despite having the best QB in college football.

Nov 19, 2022; Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA; Alabama wide receiver Traeshon Holden (11) breaks a tackle as he plays against Austin Peay at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
