Spring Transfer Portal Window: Who is Hot?

Since the transfer portal reopened on Saturday, more than 200 players have entered. These are some of the players who have been piling up the offers.

OL Emmanuel Pregnon – Wyoming

The skinny: It has been difficult to keep up with all of the offers that Pregnon has received since entering on Saturday. Already officially in the chase are Miami-Florida, Tennessee, Penn State, Auburn, Arizona State, Kentucky, Colorado, Washington State, Ole Miss, UCLA, Indiana, Oregon, Minnesota, Illinois, Purdue, Arizona, and Charlotte, while serious interest is also coming in from LSU, Michigan State, Alabama, Nebraska, Oklahoma and many others. Only two days into his process Pregnon will take some time to organize his opportunities but look for official visits to start in the next week or two.

OL Troy Everett – Appalachian State

The skinny: Everett quickly picked up offers from Virginia Tech, Louisville, Oklahoma, Maryland, Liberty, Missouri, Illinois, and James Madison on Saturday and followed that up with an offer from Old Dominion yesterday and UNLV today. Other schools to keep an eye on are Oregon, South Carolina, Arkansas, and USF. A freshman All-American center with multiple seasons of eligibility remaining, it is easy to see why Everett has become a priority for several programs.

Sep 17, 2022; Boone, North Carolina, USA; Appalachian State Mountaineers offensive lineman Troy Everett (52) and offensive lineman Damion Daley (75) get ready to block Troy Trojans defensive tackle Buddha Jones (52)during the second quarter at Kidd Brewer Stadium

TE Var’Keyes Gumms – North Texas

The skinny: Athletic tight ends are a hot commodity in college football, which explains why Gumms has piled up the offers since entering the portal on Saturday. West Virginia, Cal, Colorado, Utah, Arkansas offered on day one, followed by BYU on Sunday. Having finished his 2022 season with 34 receptions for 458 yards and five touchdowns, he can be a immediate weapon for any team that adds him to their roster.

Dec 2, 2022; San Antonio, Texas, USA; North Texas Mean Green tight end Var’Keyes Gumms (30) runs the ball in front of UTSA Roadrunners cornerback Nicktroy Fortune (10) and linebacker Dadrian Taylor (7) in the first half at the Alamodome.

OL Jaden Muskrat – Tulsa

The skinny: While he has not piled up the offers in the quantity as Pregnon and Everett, Muskrat is another offensive lineman who quickly made his mark with offers from Penn State, Virginia Tech, Auburn and Cal. Plenty of other schools are also close to pulling the trigger, including TCU, Purdue, Arkansas, South Carolina, Georgia Tech and Arizona State.

Oct 1, 2022; Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA; Tulsa Golden Hurricane offensive lineman Jaden Muskrat (79) blocks during the first quarter against the Cincinnati Bearcats at Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium. Cincinnati won 31-21.

DE Anthony Campbell – Louisiana-Monroe

The skinny: While Campbell only entered the portal a couple of hours ago, he has already picked up offers from Auburn, West Virginia, Cal, Purdue and North Texas. TCU, Texas Tech, SMU, Mississippi State and SMU are a few of the others to watch. With multiple seasons of eligibility remaining and with a 6-foot-7, 277-pound frame, expect Campbell to be extremely busy.
