LB Larry Nixon – North Texas
The skinny: Only in the portal since Saturday, Nixon quickly made some noise by picking up offers from Auburn, Miami-Florida and Cincinnati. There are also numerous other P5 programs involved, including West Virginia, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisville, Cal, LSU and Ole Miss. While the Canes currently seem to be recruiting Nixon the hardest, his first visit is likely going to Auburn, where he will be this weekend. It will be interesting to see what other offers arrive this week, but for now it is a likely battle between the Canes and Tigers.
DB Trey Amos – Louisiana
The skinny: Amos didn’t officially enter the portal until late Monday, but has already received offers from Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Florida, Miami-Florida, Oregon, Illinois, Michigan State and Ole Miss. A Louisiana native, LSU is an obvious player, but Alabama has quickly established the full-court recruiting press. With the process being very fresh, new and currently hectic, scheduling visits will go an extremely long way in deciding his future. While many schools are involved, will the Tigers or Tide get that first opportunity to host Amos?

DB Avante Dickerson – Oregon
The skinny: Having entered the portal on Friday, Dickerson already has several interesting options. Three Big Ten schools, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Indiana, have already offered, while Oregon State, Kansas State, Mississippi State and Nebraska are just a few of the other programs that may soon join the chase officially. The Badgers and Gophers have both made him a priority, so expect there to be a battle between the two to grab the first official visit.
LB Daveren Rayner – Northern Illinois
The skinny: In the portal for four days, Rayner quickly became one of the most sought-after available players with offers from Florida State, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Texas Tech, Cincinnati, Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech, UCF, Appalachian State and Marshall. While Kentucky was one of his more recent offers, they have already secured an official visit for May 11th, which was quick work by the Wildcats’ staff. As more offers are likely, expect at least one other visit to be taken prior to his trip to Lexington, but for now that is still up-for-grabs.

DB Donovan Callis – D2 East Central
The skinny: Several D2 players have done well for themselves during the spring portal window, including Callis’ teammate Keonte Lusk who committed to Coastal Carolina last week but has since picked up offers from Oklahoma and Arkansas. Callis has made a name for himself with offers from Penn State, Virginia Tech, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Georgia Southern, Charlotte, Utah State and others. Lower-level portal players generally don’t rush into a decision, so expect him to enjoy the process and take several visits before finding his next home.
