Nick Saban and Alabama are a top portal destination for many players hoping to take the next step in their college career, learn from the best, and potentially win a national championship. Today we take a look at five potential transfers the Crimson Tide should look to add to their 2023 roster.
HM – Ajani Cornelius – OG – Rhode Island
Ajani Cornelius is the most touted offensive linemen transfer this year. The unranked Offensive Linemen from White Plains, NY, committed to Rhode Island as part of the 2020 class and allowed one sack in two years for the Rams. Since entering the portal, Ajani has garnished interest from over 16 schools, and the Crimson Tide have yet to offer.
Alabama has had offensive line problems recently, and Ajani would be a solid addition with JC Latham and Tyler Booker already there. I see Ajani ending up elsewhere; however, if the Tide push for him, they can land him.

1. Grant DuBose – WR – Charlotte
The 6’3 WR was a star this past season for the 49ers but decided it was time to leave Charlotte for another school. In eleven games this season, DuBose hauled in 64 catches and had 792 yards and five touchdowns.
Grant is from Montgomery, Alabama, and has already received interest from Auburn. With the Crimson Tide losing three receivers to the portal, DuBose can be a solid veteran addition for the 2023 season.

2. Justin Flowe – LB – Oregon
I was shocked to see former 5-star LB Justin Flowe enter the portal. The touted LB struggled with injuries in his three seasons in Eugene but made plays and impact plays in limited time. Alabama offered Flowe out of high school but was not at the top of his board.
Many might be wondering why this transfer seems believable for the Tide. Alabama expects to lose two LBs to the draft this season, and Flowe can immediately start, plus Tennessee transfer LB Henry To’o found success with the Tide.

3. Dominic Lovett – WR – Missouri
Dominic Lovett led the Tigers in receiving yards this season, but it was clear Luther Burden would be the top receiver next year, leading him to transfer. Lovett could look to stay in the SEC, and with the Tide looking for receivers, he could be another name Nick Saban likes. Lovett managed to hail in over 800 yards in his second season in college and will be a solid addition to any team next season

4. Tony Grimes – CB – UNC
Tony Grimes, the former 5-star CB, reclassified to the 2020 class and enrolled at UNC. In three seasons, Grimes dominated for the Tar Heels locking down opposing WRs.
Alabama was a team competing for his commitment, and with the recent struggles of the Alabama secondary, Grimes could make a huge impact and become the next Tide defensive great. I would not be shocked to see Grimes transfer to the Tide and this one guy they need to attract.

5. Fentrell Cypress – CB – Virginia
Fentrell Cypress is the top transfer CB available. The Virginia DB dominated his competition this season, playing only nine games this season. Ohio State seems to have the early lead on Cypress, and as of now, I expect him to transfer here.
If the Tide come knocking, they could steal this touted transfer as they did with Caleb Downs. The addition of Cypress brings a solid veteran skillset to the table which every college team would enjoy.
