1. LB Amare Campbell – North Carolina

Campbell played 11 games as a true freshman, finishing with 14 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack and one interception, before taking his game to the next level in 2024 with 76 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. The 6-foot-0, 230-pound Virginia native has been focusing on Penn State and SMU to this point, with the Nittany Lions pushing the hardest.

2. S A.J. Haulcy – Houston

Since stepping on a college football field, Haulcy has been productive. It started at New Mexico, where during his one season with the Lobos he finished his true freshman season with 87 tackles, three tackles for loss, two interceptions and three pass deflections. He then took his talents to Houston, where he continued to thrive during his two seasons with the Cougars. Having totaled 172 tackles, five interceptions and 12 pass deflections, he would be a key addition to any secondary. Ole Miss and Miami have been serious contenders, with the Canes receiving a visit earlier this week. LSU has also become a major player.

3. LB Andrew Simpson – Boise State

Simpson was a productive defensive playmaker during his three seasons with the Broncos. Totaling 141 tackles, 32 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, three interceptions and five forced fumbles, he is a difference maker at the linebacker position. North Carolina, USC and Miami are under consideration.

4. LB Mohamed Toure – Rutgers

While injuries, which have cost him the 2022 and 2024 seasons, have slowed his career, when healthy he has been very productive. In his last two seasons, in 2021 and 2023, he totaled 144 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and nine tackles for loss. This is shaping up to be a competition between Penn State and Miami, with both pushing the 6-foot-2, 235-pound linebacker for a commitment.

5. LB Harrison Taggart – BYU

Taggart started his collegiate career with Oregon before transferring to BYU prior to the 2023 season. He enjoyed his best season in Provo in 2024 with 69 tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack and one interception. He has already taken visits to NC State, Cal and Colorado, with his most recent being to Boulder over the weekend. There are his three finalists.
