Travis Hunter was the number one overall player in last year’s class. He shocked everyone by flipping to HBCU Jackson State from Florida State on National Signing Day. He is in the transfer portal after Deion Sanders‘ departure from Jackson State. These are the schools that make the most sense for Hunter. He teased his decision earlier today with this tweet.
What fan base want an early Christmas present?

1. Colorado
This is the obvious one. He went to Jackson State to follow Deion Sanders in the first place, and now Coach Prime is at Colorado. Hunter put his name in the transfer portal a couple days after Deion announced he was leaving for Boulder. Many assumed he was a lock for the Buffaloes until he posted a YouTube video saying his recruitment was open. Let’s look at the other schools that are said to be in the mix.
BREAKING: Jackson State head coach Deion Sanders has agreed to become the 28th full-time head coach in Colorado history, per a BuffZone source. An announcement from CU is expected to come tonight. #cubuffs

2. Georgia
The rich could possibly get richer. Georgia has gained some buzz as a sleeper with a serious chance to land Travis Hunter. There has been talk that Hunter has told people he wants to play wide receiver for the Dawgs. Travis Hunter went to Collins Hill High School, which is barely an hour from Athens. This would be a huge get for Kirby Smart if he is able to pull this off.

Travis Hunter has reportedly had “several conversations” with Georgia HC Kirby Smart and different Georgia staffers.

3. USC
The Trojans are another school that was talked about being in the mix. This is probably due to location and NIL money. I’m sure USC is trying to put the best package together to try and persuade Hunter into coming to sunny LA.

4. Miami
Another team mentioned was the Canes. Miami is similar to USC in where it can offer beautiful beaches and great weather, along with NIL deals. I really believe that them and USC were mentioned mainly because of these two factors.

5. Florida State
I am a bit surprised that Florida State isn’t more in the running for Hunter’s services. He had been committed to them forever before flipping to Jackson State on signing day last year. He grew up a Noles fan and is originally from Florida. We’ll see if Mike Norvell can work some magic.
Is Travis Hunter Jr. (@TravisHunterJr) the best player in the Class of 2022?
The #FloridaState commit makes crazy plays in both 7v7 and in game that seems like an everyday thing for him ? pic.twitter.com/O3GaYra9W8

6. Alabama
This one is a long shot, but you can never count out Nick Saban. Alabama is obviously a prestigious school and the best in recent history. They have arguably the greatest coach of all time and Hunter would still be close to home. Alabama can also match any NIL offer out there. It’s not likely, but I wouldn’t be completely surprised if Hunter ended up in Tuscaloosa.
Travis Hunter posted on his Instagram that he would announce his decision once he hit 100k subscribers on YouTube. As of Wednesday evening, he has reached that goal. It shouldn’t be long before he makes his decision, and I am very interested to see where he lands.
Ex-Jackson State DB/WR Travis Hunter said that he'd commit when his YouTube page gets to 100,000 followers.
