With the high number of transfers making an immediate impact at the college football level on a weekly basis, it is easy for a few performances to slide under-the-radar. Below are five from Week 10 that deserve more attention:

WR Dante Cephas – Penn State (Kent State)

The skinny: Cephas was brought in during the off-season to provide a needed spark to the wide receiver group. He was one of the top receivers in the portal and was considered a quality addition for the Nittany Lions, but the results to this point have not met expectations. Penn State fans hope that his performance on Saturday will begin to change that as he finished with six receptions for 53 yards and two touchdowns, his first two with the Nittany Lions. Penn State will needed him to become a threat during the remainder of the season if they hope to finish strong.

RB Isaac Guerendo – Louisville (Wisconsin)

The skinny: With starter Jawhar Jordan out with an injury, the Cardinals needed someone to step up. That someone was Guerendo, who rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries during a 34-3 victory over Virginia Tech. He has been a reliable backup all season long, but now the Cardinals know that if Jordan misses more time that they have someone who they can depend on.

Nov 4, 2023; Louisville, Kentucky, USA; Louisville Cardinals running back Isaac Guerendo (23) runs the ball against the Virginia Tech Hokies during the second half at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium. Louisville defeated Virginia Tech 34-3.

DB John Saunders Jr. – Ole Miss (Miami-Ohio)

The skinny: As one of the more active teams in the portal, Ole Miss signed plenty of players who received more attention than Saunders. However, he has become one of the key contributors. This continued Saturday with eight tackles and one interception during a 38-35 victory over Texas A&M. He is now third on the team in tackles (48), second in passes defended (5) and first in interceptions (3).

TE Kyle Morlock – Florida State (DII Shorter)

The skinny: With their top two wide receivers out of the game due to injury, the Seminoles relied on a few other threats. One of these was Morlock, who finished with four receptions for a season-high 80 yards during a 24-7 victory over Pittsburgh. It has been Jaheim Bell who has received most of the attention as a portal tight end arrival, but with his size and athleticism, it may be Morlock who proves to be more vital down the stretch of the season.

DL Elijah Roberts – SMU (Miami-Florida)

The skinny: The Mustangs signed several transfers from Miami-Florida, with Roberts being the one who has made the biggest impact. While he has had several impactful games this season, he had his best on Saturday against Rice with five tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks and one forced fumble. The win, which moved the Mustangs to 7-2 on the season and 5-0 in the conference, kept them on track to make the AAC Championship game.
