West Virginia: Possible Transfers to Watch

Which West Virginia players would be the busiest if they entered the transfer portal?

With Neal Brown getting fired on Sunday, West Virginia players were immediately eligible to enter the transfer portal. Plenty will get interest, but which will be the busiest?

RB Jahiem White (Sophomore, 5-foot-7, 195-pounds)

White may be short, but he has been extremely productive in his two seasons with the Mountaineers. He has rushed for 1,659 yards and 11 touchdowns, while also grabbing three receiving touchdowns in 24 games. While only 5-foot-7, he is very strong for his size, and lethal in the open field. White would be a prize addition for many offenses.

RB CJ Donaldson Jr. (Junior, 6-foot-2, 238-pounds)

If a school is looking for a bull of a running back then they will take a peak at Donaldson, who has rushed for 1,607 yards and 21 touchdowns during his time in Morgantown. Surprisingly agile for his size, Donaldson is especially effective in the redzone.

Auburn Tigers New Defensive Faces for 2025

LB Josiah Trotter (RS Freshman, 6-foot-2, 238-pounds)

Trotter impressed immediately in Morgantown, but a season-ending leg injury during the spring ended his 2023 season before it began. However, he came back healthy in 2024 and didn’t disappoint. He has 92 tackles and four tackles for loss this season, and with his best football still in front of him, he would immediately become a top target for many schools if he entered.

LB Trey Lathan (RS Sophomore, 6-foot-1, 226-pounds)

Lathan began to find his game in 2023 with 27 tackles in five games, but then sustained a season-ending leg injury. This season he has become a major part of the defense with 72 tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks and one forced fumble. Just like Trotter, he has the potential for much more and schools will see that.

West Virginia Mountaineers linebacker Trey Lathan (4) tackles Cincinnati Bearcats wide receiver Tony Johnson (0) in the fourth quarter of a college football game between the Cincinnati Bearcats and West Virginia Mountaineers, Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at Nippert Stadium in Cincinnati. Mountaineers won 31-24.

OG Tomas Rimac (RS Junior, 6-foot-6, 318-pounds)

Wyatt Milum grabs most of the headlines on the West Virginia offensive line, but Rimac deserves some of his own. A starter since his redshirt freshman season in 2022, Rimac has become one of the best offensive guards in the Big 12 over the last two seasons. Productivity and experience on the offensive line go a long way in the transfer portal.
