2024 Four-star CB Jaylen Thompson out of Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro, TN, is one of the top players in Tennessee and held 16 offers before trimming down his list to just ten schools: Michigan State, Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisville, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Michigan, Auburn, and Arkansas.
There are a few things that he is looking for in a program. He breaks down his recruitment with Mike Farrell Sports.
Family Feeling
Something that stands out to him is that brotherhood-type feeling and a program that shows love to his family.
“Just how they make me and my family feel and for me to see how they try and reach out and make me seem like a #1 priority.”
Relationship with Coaches
Another thing he is looking for in a program is a good relationship with all the coaches.
“My relationship with all the coaches I came in contact with have been great, really created a good bond with them.”
The big question is which coaches will remain with the program recruiting him. There are a few coaches near to being on the hot seat, and we will see if that could change things in his recruitment.

Ball Hungry Defense
While wanting to compete at the highest level, a defense that makes plays is something that stands for Thompson as he’s looking to be an impact player in the secondary.
“How ball hungry a defense is making a great impact on me.”
The next step for the four-star cornerback is making his final decision. Though he does not have a set date, he is looking to make his decision soon.
“My timeline is still to be determined but hopefully, at the end of this school year.”
