2024 Four-star WR Brandon Heyward, out of Oak Ridge High School (TN), held 16 offers before trimming his list down to eight schools: Kentucky, Michigan State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati, Boston College, Missouri, and Mississippi State.

The 5 foot 11 wide receiver is one of the top players in Tennessee and has been one of the sought names to look for in his class. He breaks down his recruitment with Mike Farrell Sports and discusses what he is looking for in a program.

Feeling the Love

He talks about why most schools that cut have shown that he is a priority to their program.

“What stands out is that the schools reach out to me at least three times a week, and that’s from all eight of the teams show great love, and that they are really interested in me.”

Relationships

A good relationship with the staff will also be vital to his decision.

Style of Offense

Having offers from some of the best offensive teams in the country is something that catches his eye during his recruitment and could ultimately be the deciding factor.

“For all eight of the schools I see that the ball is thrown around a lot, nice tempo offenses, and definitely put up points.”

After trimming down his list of schools, the big question remains on when the four-star wide receiver will make his decision.

“The decision will be made close to the beginning of the spring.”
