California has produced talented football players in the high school ranks. The Marin Catholic Wildcats are two-time state champions over the past four campaigns and are talented again in 2025. Leading the team on the field and under center will be 2028 QB Dylan Skrinar.
Marin Catholic (8-3) won the North Bay Adobe Division with a 5-0 mark and made the playoffs.
Skrinar joined the varsity full-time this season after he ked the Wildcats JV team to a 7-3 record last season. He passed for 1,414 yards, 17 touchdowns and only five interceptions. Skrinar completed 70 percent of his passes.
In addition, Skrinar added 363 yards on the ground with eight more scores and he averaged almost six yards per carry (5.95).
In a story by Ian Ross in the Marin Independent Journal, Marin Catholic coach Mazi Moayed said this about his 2028 quarterback Dylan Skrinar.
“So far with Dylan, he’s done a fantastic job this summer homing in on the things we do and trying to do them at a high level,” Moayed said. “It’s been fun to watch. He’s got great enery and we’ll see what he can do once we get going. It will be his first varsity start at Inderkum in Sacramento so that will be an exciting night for him.”

Skrinar took some reps with the varsity team last season.

“My first part of varsity was last year right before the playoffs,” Skrinar said. “I was getting a little bit of reps. We had some injuries going on so I was getting to split reps.”
Another first is the Wildcats have installed light towers at their stadium, which will allow the team to display their gridiron talents in front of a passionate fan base under the lights on a Friday night.
The Godfather of Recruiting, Mike Farrell, said this about Dylan Skrinar:
“2028 CA QB Dylan Skrinar has comps to Jared Goff, who played at same school.”
