Plenty of top five-star recruits will be out on visits this big college football weekend. Julio Gonzales updates us on where they are headed.

Week ten of the college football season will be another huge one. We have two top-ten matchups in the SEC. First, the #3 Tennessee Volunteers head to Athens to face the #1 Georgia Bulldogs, followed by the #6 Alabama Crimson Tide traveling to Death Valley to take on the #10 LSU Tigers. Then, in the ACC, the #5 Clemson Tigers will face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in South Bend. Finally, in the Big 12, the Texas Tech Red Raiders travel to Fort Worth to face the #7 TCU Horned Frogs. Like always, big games mean big-time recruits are in the stands. So let’s see who is going where.

Names in the Names

–5- star EDGE Matayo Uiagalelei, St. John Bosco, Bellflower, California.

Matayo Uiagalelei is the No. 10 overall prospect and No. 2 edge in the 2023 class. He is also one of the top uncommitted players and will be in South Bend this weekend to watch the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Clemson Tigers. However, it is not a visit for the Irish and more about him seeing his brother and Clemson quarterback D.J. Uigalelei play. His top three schools are the Ohio State Buckeyes, Oregon Ducks, and USC Trojans, as he has taken official visits to each of those schools. The Buckeyes look to be the slight favorites, but he may only decide in the early signing period in December because his team is still in season. However, I would still keep an eye out for the Tigers.

–5- star CB Desmond Ricks, IMG Academy, Bradenton, Florida.

Desmond Ricks is the No. 15 overall prospect and No. 2 cornerback in the 2023 class and announced that he would commit on December 23. No matter where Ricks chooses, he will play in the SEC, as his top three schools are the Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida Gators, and LSU Tigers. However, he will be at Death Valley this weekend to watch the Tigers host the Crimson Tide. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Tigers as the slight favorite, but he did say it would be hard to turn down Alabama and Nick Saban. I think Alabama has the edge, but an LSU win would be huge in more ways than one.

–5- star EDGE Samuel M’Pemba, IMG Academy, Bradenton, Florida.

Samuel M’Pemba is the No. 29 overall player and No. 4 edge in the 2023 class and is another prospect who will be in Athens this weekend for the Bulldogs and Volunteers. M’Pemba has visited both schools, and despite an excellent visit to Tennessee, he looks to be leaning toward the Bulldogs. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine and 247 Sports Crystal Ball both have them as favorites also. Tennessee has made it exciting, but the Bulldogs are in the lead. However, the Volunteers could change that with a win.

Cat-like reflex here from Samuel M'Pemba to tip a shovel pass. I had him with 2 PBU and a FF. Looked like a monster. https://t.co/VRbXqbXuPk pic.twitter.com/kZL1gjs5c6

–5- star 2024 LB TJ Capers, Columbus High School, Miami, Florida.

TJ Capers is the No. 5 overall prospect and No. 1 LB in the 2024 class and will be in Coral Gables this weekend when the Miami Hurricanes host the Florida State Seminoles. Capers is the biggest target for the Hurricanes 2024 class. However, the Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, and Michigan State Spartans are also in on him. The On3 RPM has the Hurricanes with a slight lead ahead of the Gators and Spartans. I also like the Hurricanes, and if they can perform well and beat the Seminoles, that can make them even more of a favorite.

–4-star RB Jeremiah Cobb, Montgomery Catholic Prepatory, Montgomery, Alabama.

Jeremiah Cobb is the No. 185 overall prospect and No. 8 running back in the 2023 class. He has been committed to the Auburn Tigers since July, but with the firing of Bryan Harsin, that could be in jeopardy. As it is, Cobb will be in Athens this weekend for the showdown between the Bulldogs and Volunteers after being offered by them last week. Cobb is still committed to Auburn, but the situation there is something to keep an eye on, and a Bulldogs win this weekend could lead Cobb to Athens.
