Five teams with surprisingly slow starts to high school recruiting so far in 2025….
1. Arizona
— Coaching changes can always slow things down, but only one commitment so far? Arizona State is making them look bad.

2. Kansas State
— I don’t worry about Chris Klieman, as he’s a great coach and player developer, but with a small portal class and a slow start in high school recruiting, things need to pick up a bit.

3. NC State
— Like Klieman, I don’t worry about Dave Doeren, but you’d like to see a few more names here. He got his QB in Will Wilson, but some in-state wins are needed soon.

4. Michigan State
— Jonathan Smith is a good coach, and he’s hit the portal hard, but high school recruiting will be crucial for him as he’s a fish out of water in the Midwest. The start hasn’t been stellar. Hometown RB Jace Clarizio was a nice addition this week, but there’s still a long way to go.

5. Arkansas
— Sam Pittman is under fire, and Bobby Petrino has been brought in to save the day, but they have only five commits, with one being a kicker, and that’s alarming.
