Cormani McClain was committed to the University of Miami for several months last recruiting cycle and had a Miami National Letter of Intent and a UM logo cake for his signing on Early Signing Day and he never showed up. He signed with Colorado two months later after being flipped by Coach Prime.

Prospects in the News

–Cormani McClain, CB, Lakeland, Florida (Lakeland HS), #12 nationally, #1 cornerback, and #3 in FL

Cormani McClain flipped to the Colorado Buffaloes from the Miami Hurricanes on Thursday night. The five-star and number-one cornerback in the class from Lakeland (FL) had committed to the Hurricanes in October over the Alabama Crimson Tide and Florida Gators. However, he did not sign during the Early Signing Period. Since then, Colorado and head coach Deion Sanders have been the team to beat, despite the Hurricanes doing everything they could to keep him. As a result, he becomes the highest-rated recruit in a Buffaloe’s class, ranked No. 29 overall and fifth in the Pac-12.

–Jamel Howard, DL, Chicago, Illinois (Marist HS), #1169 overall, #125 defensive lineman, and #25 in IL

Three-star Chicago (IL.) defensive lineman Jamel Howard will be in Death Valley this weekend for an official visit with the LSU Tigers. He says the Tigers, Illinois Fighting Illini, Michigan Wolverines, and Wisconsin Badgers are his leading four schools. Howard has already made official visits to Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin, and Wolverines have also done an in-home visit with him. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Wolverines as considerable favorites to land him with a 96% of doing so. Michigan is the team to beat.

–Mario Buford, 2024 CB, DeSoto, Texas (DeSoto HS), #221 nationally, #19 cornerback, and #35 in TX

Four-star Desoto (TX.) cornerback Mario Buford is the No. 35 player in Texas, and he knows which three schools he will officially visit. The Nebraska Cornhuskers, Oregon Ducks, and Washington Huskies are those schools, with the Michigan State Spartans also in the mix. Regarding those schools, he said,

“Those are four programs that have definitely stood out to me.”

Right now, the On3 RPM has the Cornhuskers as the favorites giving them a 55% chance of doing so. His brother Marques is a starting safety for the Cornhuskers, and he has said that they are recruiting him the hardest. Nebraska is the team to beat right now. Still, the Ducks are also in the mix, as he attended a camp where head coach Dan Lanning, defensive backs coach Demetrice Martin, and defensive coordinator/safeties coach Matt Powledge recruited him.

–Braylon Conley, 2024 CB, Humble, Texas (Atascocita HS), #459 nationally, #42 cornerback, and #75 in TX

Braylon Conley received three offers on Thursday. The Michigan State Spartans, Tulsa Golden Hurricane, and the USC Trojans all offered the three-star cornerback from Humble (TX.) Conley is the No. 75 player in Texas and holds over 20 offers. The On3 RPM has the Texas Longhorns as the current leaders at 36% to land him. He had already visited the Longhorns and was in Austin when they hosted the Iowa State Cyclones and TCU Horned Frogs. Texas is the team to beat right now.

–Marquise Lightfoot, 2024 EDGE, Chicago, Illinois (Kenwood Academy), #314 nationally, #21 edge, and #6 in IL

Marquise Lightfoot received an offer from the Wisconsin Badgers on Thursday, after the Miami Hurricanes and Ohio State Buckeyes offered him earlier this week. He has yet to visit any schools and now has 36 offers. Regarding his good week, he said,

“It has been a pretty good week so far. After these new offers, I am up to 36 total. All three schools had been showing me some interest, so none were really a big shock, but all three were big offers for me.”

When he releases one, these three schools will be on his list, and he plans to visit them all. Lightfoot also plans to visit the Michigan Wolverines, Michigan State Spartans, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish as well.
