Derrek Cooper and the Top 5 2026 Uncommitted ATH Recruits

Top 2026 ATH recruits: Versatile playmakers dominating both sides of the ball

Athletes are the most intriguing players in college football recruiting. These guys play multiple positions on both sides of the ball until they settle on a position in college. The exception is former top prospect and the No. 2 pick in this past NFL Draft, Travis Hunter, who continued to play on both sides throughout his collegiate career (time will tell if he can carry his success in the NFL). Plenty of players are available who can contribute to either side of the ball in the 2026 class.

Derrek Cooper

Hollywood, Fla. (Chaminade-Madonna)

No. 3 ATH nation, No. 1 ATH Florida

Cooper is one of, if not the most, dynamic players in this recruiting class, regardless of position. Cooper plays RB and safety, showing promise on both sides of the ball. As a ballcarrier, Cooper is a bruising back with upside in the passing game. On defense, he is a hard-hitting player who displays a tremendous IQ for the game.

Cooper participates in track and field events, qualifying for the Florida state championships in the long jump, 100-meter dash, and 200-meter dash.

Cooper has officially visited Alabama, Georgia, Florida State, Penn State, Miami, Auburn and Ohio State. He is projected to stay close to home and sign with Miami.

Salesi Moa

Ogden, Utah (Fremont)

No. 4 ATH nation, No. 1 ATH in Utah

Moa is equally talented at WR and safety. As a receiver, Moa shows patience with his quarterback, displaying his ability to run under the ball for a significant gain. He also shows promise as a physical receiver, as he can rise above defenders to grab the ball. As a defender, Moa has phenomenal instincts in coverage. He knows how to read the quarterback’s eyes, bait quarterbacks and rise to intercept passes or break up plays.

Joel Wyatt

Bell Buckle, Tenn. (The Webb School)

No. 5 ATH nation, No. 1 ATH in Tennessee

Wyatt is one of the most athletic players in this class. Wyatt is a 6-foot-4′, 195-pound freak that plays both WR and safety. Wyatt is very quick and can jump with anyone. While he is more polished defensively, Wyatt’s elusiveness and vertical ability, to pair with his frame, have scouts salivating at his potential on offense. Wyatt will need to continue developing, but he should progress to become a great player at the Power Four level.

In April 2025, Wyatt recorded a 23-foot long jump and a 6-foot-6 high jump.

Wyatt has officially visited Tennessee, Maryland, and Vanderbilt. He has recently received offers from Mississippi State and Oklahoma. He is deciding between Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

Jalen Lott

Frisco, Texas (Panther Creek)

No. 6 ATH nation, No. 2 ATH in Texas

Panther Creek’s Lott holds a lot of potential on both sides of the ball. Lott, who plays WR and CB, started his high school career at Lovejoy High School in Lucas, Texas, before transferring. The move saw an increase in production. In his first season at Panther Creek, Lott tallied 1,111 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns. He added 106 yards and four touchdowns over 18 carries on the ground. Defensively, Lott is less polished, so he will most likely stay on offense at the next level.

Lott received an invite to the 2026 Polynesian Bowl.

Lott has officially visited Colorado, Georgia, LSU, USC, Ohio State, Texas, and Oregon.

Davian Groce

Frisco, Texas (Lone Star)

No. 7 ATH nation, No. 3 ATH in Texas

Groce is a multi-sport athlete and a specialist on the offensive side of the ball. Groce receives consistent snaps at both WR and RB, and projects to be the latter at the next level. Groce is exceptionally athletic, which sets him apart from other running backs in this class, but he projects to be a receiver at the next level due to his 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame.

Groce received an invitation to the 2025 Navy All-American Bowl.

Groce has officially visited Oklahoma, Florida, Houston, and Baylor.
