Names in the News

–Desmond Ricks, CB, Bradenton, Florida (IMG Academy), #23 nationally, #2 cornerback, and #6 in FL

Five-star Florida cornerback Desmond Ricks committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide on Thursday, choosing them over the Florida Gators and LSU Tigers, among others. He is the second-rated CB in this class and has become the seventh five-star recruit in the Crimson Tide's number one class. Ricks said he chose Alabama because the Tide are always in the hunt and because Nick Saban coaches the defensive backs himself,

"My favorite thing is probably Coach (Nick) Saban coaching the corners himself. That means a lot to me to have a legend like that coaching me.

The Crimson Tide are on a roll!

–Rodrick Pleasant, CB, Gardena, California (Junipero Serra), #86 nationally, #9 cornerback, and #7 in CA

California four-star cornerback Rodrick Pleasant will announce his commitment on February 6th. The Boston College Eagles, California Golden Bears, Oregon Ducks, UCLA Bruins, and USC Trojans are his top teams. The Trojans are the favorite, as he has taken seven total visits there, and the On3 RPM has them with an 82.4% chance of landing him. I like the Trojans, too, and he will choose them on February 6th.
