Today we will dive into five recruits that will serve as a litmus test for Notre Dame recruiting in the 2024 cycle.

Justin Scott, DL, St. Ignatius HS, #8 Nationally, #2 DL, #1 IL

Justin Scott has been a priority target for Notre Dame for over a year. Scott almost committed to Notre Dame in January but delayed his plans. Scott released a top 5 of Notre Dame, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, and Georgia. All five schools are expected to receive an official visit, but as of now Notre Dame and Miami are the presumed leaders.

Saint Ignatius Academy (IL) DL Jusitn Scott.

Guerby Lambert, OT, Catholic Memorial, #32 Nationally, #5 OT, #1 MA

Guerby Lambert is one of the better offensive tackles in this year’s class. Lambert has been pretty quiet about his recruitment and only took visits to one school, which is the hometown team Boston College. Notre Dame has been presumed the leader but no school should be considered out of the race. Lambert currently has official visits to four schools: Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, and Boston College. Lambert has an elite size at 6’7 and would be a huge addition to the Notre Dame recruiting class.

Elijah Rushing, Edge, Salpointe Catholic, #50 Nationally, #4 Edge, #2 AZ

Elijah Rushing is another major target for Notre Dame. Rushing stands 6’6 and 225 pounds and has the frame to be an elite edge rusher in college. Notre Dame will host Rushing for an official visit on June 9th. Currently, Oregon and Notre Dame are positioned at the top, but Arizona, Tennessee, and Washington are also contenders. After losing Keon Keeley in 2023 landing Rushing would essentially eliminate that loss and give the Irish a truly elite edge for the defense.

Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa, LB, St. John Bosco, #117 Nationally, #9 LB, # 13 CA

Four-star linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa is slowly winding down his recruitment. He recently released a top three of Notre Dame, USC, and Ohio State. Landing Kyngstonn would give Notre Dame their crown jewel at linebacker and add to a class that already includes three-star Bodie Kahoun. Kygstonn is a must-land for Notre Dame that comes from a California powerhouse that could potentially develop a pipeline for Notre Dame.

Kaleb Beasley, CB, Lipscomb Academy, #137 Nationally, #17 CB, #1 TN

Kaleb Beasley is a corner out of Lipscomb Academy that is currently committed to Tennessee. Although Beasley is currently committed to Tennessee, his recruitment is still pretty open as he has a couple of official visits scheduled to other schools. Last summer Beasley was heavily considering Notre Dame, but ultimately ended up committing to Tennessee after a couple of gameday visits to Knoxville this fall. However, the Notre Dame staff never backed off of Beasley and now are certainly in play to flip his commitment down the road.

Some other names that I didn’t mention are S Brauntae Johnson, TE Carter Nelson, S Dejuan Lane, and RB Kedren Young.
