High school ball is back in full fledge mode, and there were lots of
outstanding performances to take note of. In this new series, I will do
a recap of the best performances from each week around the state of
Tennessee. Let’s take a look at weeks four and five.
1. QB Jayden Neal (Junior)
Knoxville Catholic HS, Knoxville, TN
Stats (Week Five) 18-22, 394 yds, 5 tds
Neal had himself a virtuoso performance, as one of my
favorite sports analysts, Shannon Sharpe, would say. He lit up
Briarcrest Christian for almost 400 yards and five touchdowns while completing 82% of his passes. The Junior sits at second in the
state in passing yards.

2. RB Montae Baldwin (Junior)
Columbia Academy, Columbia, TN
Stats (Week Five) 26 car, 307 yds, 3 tds
Baldwin has quietly had himself a breakout season. The junior is averaging almost 200 yards per game, coming in at 193.8,
and this past Friday was no different. Against Donelson Christian
Academy, he ran for over 300 yards and three touchdowns. I don’t
expect him to slow down anytime soon.

3. WR Jay’len Mosley (Junior)
Jackson Christian HS, Jackson, TN
Stats (Week Five) 5 rec, 177 yds, 3 tds
The state’s leading receiver had himself another big game.
Against Fayette Academy, he put up almost 200 yards while adding
three touchdowns. He’s on an insane pace for close to 1,800 yards
and 19 touchdowns. He also sits at second in the nation in yards.

4. OLB Kolton Rose (Freshman)
West HS, Knoxville, TN
Stats (Week Five) 2 ints
The Freshman from Knoxville has been an interception
machine all season, averaging two a game with a total of six, which
leads the state while also ranking ninth in the nation. He added
another two this past Friday in a blowout win against Knoxville
Central. We might have a star in the making in this kid.
5. DE Kenderrius Roberts (Senior)
Mitchell HS, Memphis, TN
Stats (Week Four) 6 tckls, 5 sacks, 1 ff, 1 fr
Kenderrius Roberts has simply been a menace for
quarterbacks all season long. He leads the state with a whopping 16
sacks through five games, averaging over three per game. In week
four against Bluff City, he had his best outing yet, ending with five
sacks and a forced fumble, which he also recovered. He sits at
second in the nation in sacks as well.
