Carson Boyd

Saint Louis, MO (Cardinal Ritter College Prep)

#536 NAT, #38 QB, #6 MO

A 6’0”, 173-pound passer, Carson Boyd became the second commit in Illinois’ 2025 class. Coming off back-to-back Missouri State championships, the QB has led Cardinal Ritter College Prep to 28 wins in a row. Last year, Boyd completed 80% of passes for 2,224 yards and 29 touchdowns with just one interception. He added 576 yards and six touchdowns on the ground, despite splitting time with Antwon McKay Jr., a 2024 QB committed to Western Illinois.

The Saint Louis, MO prospect chose the Illini over offers from Louisville, Missouri, Purdue, Texas A&M, West Virginia, Iowa State and more. He was initially ranked 51st in the MFS Staff Rankings and is a very solid addition for Bret Bielema and his staff.

Carter Lowe

Toledo, OH (Whitmer)

#79 NAT, #9 OT, #3 OH

One of the best players in Ohio is choosing to stay home and play for the Buckeyes. The monstrous 6’5”, 290-pound Carter Lowe physically fits the bill for protecting one of the prestigious teams in the country. In addition to football, Lowe plays basketball and throws for Whitmer’s Track and Field team.

Lowe received 22 offers, including from Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee, and Texas A&M. He becomes the seventh commit for Ohio State in the class of 2025. After being an issue last season, Ryan Day continues to emphasize the offensive line and looks to have improved it in the future.

Jaboree Antoine

New Iberia, LA (Westgate)

#53 NAT, #8 CB, #2 LA

Being a highly rated DB from the state of Louisiana usually leads to two things. A commitment to LSU, and a lot of success. Jaboree Antoine looks to be the next star with the Tigers and it’s easy to see why. With a very good 6’1” frame, great ball skills, and experience playing all over the field, Antoine has a bright future ahead.

Including LSU, Antoine had 23 offers, including powerhouses Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Texas, and 11 SEC schools. He attended the Tigers’ Junior Day on the 27th before making his pledge official in the evening. A week prior, he was with Steve Sarkisian and Texas’ Junior Day. The return of Defensive Backs coach Corey Raymond, a fellow New Iberia native was also important in Antoine’s recruitment.

LSU now has nine commits, good for second to the school Notre Dame, Brian Kelly’s old school in the 247Sports Composite. Behind an offensive triple threat of #1s, Antoine is the highest-ranked defensive commit.

Sharlandiin Strange

Wyncote, PA (Cheltenham)

#271 NAT, #23 EDGE, #9 PA

Syracuse picked up their first commit with a four-star edge from the Northeast. Sharlandiin Strange chose the Orange over 16 offers, most notably Notre Dame, Penn State, Texas A&M, and USC. However, it was Rutgers who provided the stiffest challenge at the end, as the two traded visits four days apart.

DC Elijah Robinson, who previously was Strange’s primary recruiter at Texas A&M was crucial in bringing the 6’3”, 235-pound edge to Central New York. On Robinson, Strange stated: “I was going to go where he goes regardless”. First-time HC Fran Brown so far has done a fantastic job on the recruiting trail, and that appears to carry over into 2025.

Deyjhon Pettaway

Katy, TX (Paetow)

#138 NAT, #11 CB, #24 TX

Another talented CB to commit will also be staying home, as Pettaway will make the short trip to College Station. Mike Elko gets his second commit in a row, following LB Kelvion Riggins’ pledge to Texas A&M on the 26th. Pettaway is the third commitment in 2025, as the Aggies look to improve from a 16-person, 19th overall 2024 class.

Other than the Aggies, Pettaway had offers from 22 schools which included Duke when Elko was there. Georgia, LSU, Miami, Ohio State, and Oregon also made offers. Deyjhon’s brother Daymion Sanford is a Linebacker going into his second year with the Aggies, which also potentially swayed his decision.
