Prospects in the News

–Nathaniel Frazier, ATH, Santa Ana, California (Mater Dei HS), #196 nationally, #26 athlete, and #19 in CA

Four-star Santa Ana (CA.) Mater Dei athlete Nathaniel Frazier is the No. 26 athlete in the class and the No. 19 player in California, and he has over 15 offers. However, four schools definitely interest him, each for a different reason. The Nebraska Cornhuskers, Oregon Ducks, Tennessee Volunteers, and Washington Huskies are those schools. The Cornhuskers were his first Big Ten offer, and he said Huskers fans are crazy, while the Volunteers were his first SEC offer. He said the Vols have been on him since he transferred to Mater Dei. As for the Ducks and Huskies, he called both of their running backs coaches, Lee Marks (Huskies) and Carlos Locklyn (Ducks), “my dogs.” The Ducks are the favorite right now to land him, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, with a 60% chance of getting him. They are the team to beat right now.

–Jordan Marshall, RB, Cincinnati, Ohio (Archbishop Moeller), #105 nationally, #8 running back, and #2 in OH

Four-star Cincinnati (OH.) running back Jordan Marshall has named his top four schools. The Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State Buckeyes, Tennessee Volunteers, and Wisconsin Badgers are those schools. Marshall is the No. 8 running back in the class and the No. 2 player in Ohio. He said it is a really close race between his top schools. “After we got back around and got to see all these schools again, I would say it’s pretty tight. “There’s nobody really ahead of each other or behind.” The Buckeyes are the slight favorites according to the On3 RPM, with a 25% chance, while the Wolverines have a 19% chance. I like Ohio State right now.

–Jacob Oden, ATH, Harper Woods, Michigan (Harper Woods HS), #160 nationally, #17 athlete, and #5 in MI

Four-star Harper Woods (MI.) athlete Jacob Oden committed to the Michigan Wolverines on Thursday night. He chose the Wolverines over the Iowa Hawkeyes, Michigan State Spartans, Penn State Nittany Lions, and Tennessee Volunteers. He said that Michigan was his dream school. “I grew up a Michigan fan as a kid, and they were my dream school. I would say the thing that stood out the most was the effort they put into recruiting over the past years. They made it known that I was the number one player on their board and had to get me.” Oden becomes the sixth, and highest recruit in a Wolverines class ranked seventh overall.

–Noreel White, ATH, Ocean Springs, Mississippi (St. Martin HS), #275 nationally, #34 athlete, and #5 in MS

Noreel White will not make his decision on February 7th as he had planned. The four-star athlete from Ocean Springs (MS.) was planning to commit that day but will now push his announcement back since he could only take some of the visits he wanted to. White is the No. 34 athlete in the class and the No. 5 player in Mississippi, and his top four schools are the Florida State Seminoles, LSU Tigers, Mississippi State Bulldogs, and Ole Miss Rebels. White has visited all his final schools but feels he still needs more time. The Rebels are the current leaders to land him, as the 247 Sports Crystal Ball and On3 RPM have him going to Oxford. So Ole Miss is the team to beat right now.

–Walker White, QB, Little Rock, Arkansas (Little Rock Christian Academy), #142 nationally, #13 quarterback, and #1 in AR

Four-star Little Rock (AR.) quarterback Walker White has named his top three schools. Those schools are the Auburn Tigers, Baylor Bears, and Clemson Tigers. White, who is the No. 13 quarterback in the class and the No. 1 player in Arkansas, will make his decision on Friday, February 3. However, the Clemson Tigers are the favorites to land him. The On3 RPM gives them a 68% chance of doing so, while 247 Sports also likes them with a 75% chance. Therefore, Clemson is the team to beat.
