Names in the News
–3-star IOL Jordan Church, IMG Academy, Bradenton, Florida.
Jordan Church is the No. 1036 overall, No. 78 interior offensive lineman, and the No. 149 player in Florida, and he decommitted from the Louisville Cardinals on Friday afternoon. Church committed to the Cardinals in June before backing off his pledge. He chose Louisville over the Florida State Seminoles, Missouri Tigers, Pittsburgh Panthers, and Tennessee Volunteers. I would look for one of those teams to get back in the mix for him.

–3-star CB, L.J. Green, Montgomery Catholic Preparatory, Montgomery, Alabama.
L.J. Green is the No. 1177 overall, No. 114 cornerback, and the No. 44 player in Alabama, and he decommitted from the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Friday afternoon. Since August, he had been committed to the Yellow Jackets before backing off his pledge, choosing them over the Florida State Seminoles and Louisville Cardinals. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Cardinals with a 51.5% chance of landing him. I like Louisville here too.

–4-star WR Omarion Miller, North Caddo High School, Vivian, Louisiana.
Omarion Miller is the No. 278 overall, No. 38 wide receiver, and the No. 16 player in Louisiana, and he decommitted from the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Friday afternoon. Miller had been committed to the Cornhuskers since July before backing off his pledge. Miller is the fourth recruit and second four-star joining Malachi Coleman to decommit from the Nebraska 2023 class. He has offers from the LSU Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, Ole Miss Rebels, Mississippi State Bulldogs, and West Virginia Mountaineers.

–4-star 2024 LB, Payton Pierce, Lovejoy High School, Lucas, Texas.
Payton Pierce is the No. 152 overall, No. 15 linebacker, and the No. 23 player in Texas in the 2024 class, and he has named his top ten schools. They are the Arkansas Razorbacks, Baylor Bears, Michigan Wolverines, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Oklahoma Sooners, Oklahoma State Cowboys, TCU Horned Frogs, Tennessee Volunteers, Texas Longhorns, and Texas A&M Aggies. The Longhorns and Sooners seem to be the early leaders, as the 247 Sports Crystal Ball has him going to Oklahoma. At the same time, the On3 Recruiting Machine has the Longhorns with a 23.9% chance of landing him.

–5-star 2024 DL Justin Scott, St. Ignatius High School, Chicago, Illinois.
Justin Scott is the No. 18 overall, No. 4 defensive lineman, and the No. 1 player in Illinois in the 2024 class, and the Texas Longhorns offered him on Friday afternoon. He has taken a few visits this season, as he has been to see the Miami Hurricanes, Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State Buckeyes, and the USC Trojans. Those seem to be his top teams at this time, but the Longhorns offering him could also put them in the mix.

–4- star CB Javien Toviano, Martin High School, Arlington, Texas.
Javien Toviano is the No. 54 overall, No. 6 cornerback, and the No. 9 player in Texas, and he will make his decision on December 15. His top 5 schools are the Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, Texas Longhorns, and Texas A&M Aggies. However, according to the 247 Sports Crystal Ball and the On3 RPM, the Tigers are in the lead. Toviano has been to Death Valley twice this season, with the last being November 5 when the Tigers upset the Alabama Crimson Tide. I have said that LSU was the team to beat, and I still say he will be a Tiger come December 15.
