Week nine of college football will have some exciting match-ups. First, the #2 Ohio State Buckeyes will head to Beaver Stadium to take on the #13 Penn State Nittany Lions. Next, the #9 Oklahoma State Cowboys visit the #22 Kansas State Wildcats. Then in the SEC, the Florida Gators will battle the #1 Georgia Bulldogs in Jacksonville, followed by the #19 Kentucky Wildcats heading to Neyland Stadium to take on the #3 Tennessee Volunteers. Finally, the Michigan State Spartans will take on the #4 Michigan Wolverines in the Big House. Of course, big games mean big-name recruits are making visits. So let’s see who is going where.

Names in the News

–4- star DT John Walker, Osceola High School, Kissimmee, Florida.

John Walker has been committed to the UCF Knights since July, but other teams are pursuing him. Two of those teams are the Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes. He has alternated visits between the Nights and Gators this season and will officially visit the Gators in December. However, he will be in Orlando this weekend to see the Nights when they host the #20 Cincinnati Bearcats. Walker is committed to UCF and has a great relationship with the defensive tackles coach Kenny Martin, but the Gators are the team that could flip him.

–4- star 2024 S Jaylen Heyward, Rockledge High School, Rockledge, Florida.

Jaylen Heyward is the No. 3 safety and No. 38 overall prospect in the 2024 class. He has offers from 40 schools but has narrowed those down to six. Those seven programs are the Georgia Bulldogs, Ohio State Buckeyes, Michigan Wolverines, Tennessee Volunteers, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Florida Gators. He has been to games at Florida, Florida State, and Georgia. Heyward has said that he will visit all six of his top schools when the season is over and that the Bulldogs are leading for him right now.

–4- star 2024 OL Spencer Fano, Timpview High School, Provo, Utah.

Spencer Fano is the highest-rated offensive line recruit on the West Coast and has set December 6 as the date he will announce his decision. His list of finalists includes the BYU Cougars, Clemson Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, Oregon Ducks, and Utah Utes. He will be at the Big House on Saturday for an official visit to see the Wolverines take on the Michigan State Spartans. Fano has already had official visits to Oregon and Utah and will also head to Death Valley on November 26 when the Tiger host the South Carolina Gamecocks. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has him choosing the Oregon Ducks. I think he will make a different decision though, instead opting to stay home by selecting the Cougars. He would join his brother, a freshman and former four-star recruit.

–4- star DL Rueben Bain, Miami Central High School, Miami, Florida.

Rueben Bain, who is one of the Louisville Cardinals’ top targets, will be there again on Saturday when they host the #10 Wake Forest Demon Deacons. He was there in May and September when they hosted the Florida State Seminoles. The Cardinals are one of his final six schools, including Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Miami, and Oklahoma. Louisville currently has the 18th-ranked recruiting class, and adding Bain would push them even higher. But the Hurricanes are the team to beat because he is from Miami and the family ties with the university. His brother Reggie is a graduate assistant there, and his uncle Tolbert Bain was a defensive back there and won a national championship in 1987.
