March thru June have become very busy months for high school recruiting. On Wednesday, another top recruit, four-star running back Kaydin Jones of Jenks (OK), will be announcing his commitment.

Jones’ list of top schools, which he announced on January 22nd, are Oklahoma, Kansas, Tennessee, Louisville and Vanderbilt. While not on his top list, Oklahoma State has made a late and serious push, but this seems to be down to the Sooners and Jayhawks.

Oklahoma was seen as the firm leader for most of Jones’ process, but recently Kansas has caught up, if not surpassed the Sooners. Considering Jones is an Oklahoma legacy, with his father, Kejuan Jones, having played for the Sooners, this recent change-of-mind has been a surprise to some. Expectations are that Jones will likely commit to the Jayhawks on Wednesday, leaving Oklahoma to find another running back.

At this time, Jones is still scheduled to take official visits to Vanderbilt (May 30), Kansas (June 6), Louisville (June 13) and Oklahoma (June 20), but it is unknown if Wednesday’s commitment will change his plans.

Jones, 6-foot-0 and 170-pounds, rushed for 1,476 yards and 17 touchdowns during his junior season and 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns as a sophomore. As a freshman he rushed for 1,264 yards and 11 touchdowns at Broken Arrow High School before his transfer to Jenks.
