Kenton Dopson is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound defensive back. As a sophomore, he totaled three
interceptions and 16 pass deflections. Dopson also plays in the 7-on-7 circuit with South Florida
Express.
“It was his childhood dream. He’s always been a Hurricane, his mother and father are Hurricane
fans,” Ricky Williams of South Florida Express told InsideTheU ahead of the announcement. “He’s been going to games since he could walk. He was born to be a Cane.”
Dopson has visited campus a number of times this past fall and winter. He decided to commit to
the Hurricanes and new cornerbacks coach Zac Etheridge after meeting with him in January.
