Names in the News

–Deric English, WR, Scottsdale, Arizona (Saguaro HS), #517 nationally, #72 wide receiver, and #11 in AZ

The Penn State Nittany Lions offered three-star Scottsdale (AZ.) wide receiver Deric English on Sunday. However, the Arizona Wildcats are the favorites according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, as they have a 53.3% chance of landing him. The Nittany Lions class is currently ranked No. 14 but only has one wide receiver committed. However, Penn State could land him despite the Wildcats being his home-state team.

After a great talk with @shadrich80 I am blessed to say that I have received an offer from @PennStateFball!! A huge thank you to @coachjfranklin and @CoachStubbs for helping us get this done!! pic.twitter.com/3xXPP03zcd

–KJ Bolden, 2024 ATH, Buford, Georgia (Buford HS), #4 nationally, #1 safety, and #2 in GA

KJ Bolden named his top 15 schools on Saturday. They are the Alabama Crimson Tide, Clemson Tigers, Colorado Buffaloes, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, Michigan State Spartans, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oklahoma Sooners, Ole Miss Rebels, Oregon Ducks, South Carolina Gamecocks, Tennessee Volunteers, and USC Trojans. Bolden, a 2024 five-star safety from Buford (GA), is the number one safety in class, plays wide receiver, and has visited most of his top schools. However, he has visited the Bulldogs the most. They are the favorite to land him, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, with a 33.8% chance of landing him, followed by Clemson at 12%. I like the Bulldogs here too.

–Hevin-Brown Shuler, 2024 DL, Atlanta, Georgia (Pace Academy HS), #72 nationally, #10 defensive lineman, and #14 in GA

Hevin-Brown Schuler announced his top 13 schools on Sunday. Those schools are the Clemson Tigers, Colorado Buffaloes, Georgia Bulldogs, Michigan Wolverines, North Carolina Tar Heels, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oklahoma Sooners, Oregon Ducks, Penn State Nittany Lions, South Carolina Gamecocks, Texas A&M Aggies, USC Trojans, and Virginia Cavaliers. Bown-Schuler is a 2024 four-star defensive lineman from Atlanta (GA.) and said,

“Those are the schools that I have the best relationship with.”

He plans to take his official visits and commit before his senior season. But the Gamecocks, Bulldogs, and Tigers are the leaders to land him right now.

–Stacy Gage, 2024 RB, Tampa, Florida (Wharton HS), #140 nationally, #12 running back, and #22 in FL

Four-star 2024 Tampa (FL.) running back Stacy Gage named his top eight schools on Sunday. They are the Alabama Crimson Tide, Colorado Buffaloes, Florida Gators, Miami Hurricanes, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oklahoma Sooners, Penn State Nittany Lions, and USC Trojans. However, the Gators are the leaders, according to the On3 RPM, which gives them a 21% chance of landing him. The Buckeyes are next at 18.4%, and the Sooners are third at 15.8%. This race will be close, but I like the Gators right now. Regarding the Gators, he said,

“Coach Napier has really changed the program, and I’m loving it.”
