June has become a very chaotic high school recruiting month. There are new offers, official visits, commitments and then decommitments. Three-star linebacker Antoine Sharp experienced many of these in just the last couple of weeks. Last night, he decided to announce a change of heart as he flipped his commitment.

First off, I want to thank UCF & Coach D for recruiting me! After careful thought & conversations with my family, I’ve decided to decommit from the University of Central Florida. Sharp’s decision to flip from UCF to West Virginia came after a recent official visit to Morgantown. He had been committed to the Knights since early March but the Mountaineers, who offered the Florida linebacker in late January, persuaded him to take an official visit which eventually led to the flip.

Sharp’s process was relatively slow until Florida State offered during his junior season. Since then, he saw offers come in from West Virginia, UCF, Missouri, Maryland, Pittsburgh and others. He is the 13th commitment for the Mountaineers and the third linebacker, joining Cameron Dwyer (Wellington, FL) and Miles Khatri (Montgomery, AL).

Sharp, 6-foot-1 and 220-pounds, plays his high school football at Palm Beach Central in Florida, finished his junior season with 133 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.
