Early June has become a very chaotic time for high school recruiting, with countless official visits and commitments happening. But that does not mean that schools aren’t also looking towards the future. Georgia did that over the weekend by handing out an offer to elite Class of 2027 QB Elijah Haven.

Haven is considered by many to be the top quarterback in his class, if not the top overall player. At 6-foot-5 and 210-pounds, he picked up his first offer more than two years ago from Texas Tech, and has since received additional ones from Ole Miss, Florida, Baylor, Miami, Auburn, Michigan, LSU, Florida State, SMU, Houston and now the Bulldogs. And if you need proof that his academics are in order, he also has an offer from Cornell.

He has already taken several visits, which included stops at Michigan, Florida State and Alabama. His other multi-visit stop has been to LSU, which makes sense considering he plays his high school football at Dunham High School in Baton Rouge, home of the Tigers.

This is where the drama will lie. Will Haven stay home and play for the Tigers or look elsewhere? He has already shown his interest in other schools, mainly Michigan and Florida State, and then traveled to Athens to earn his offer from Georgia. He wouldn’t have made the trip to Georgia if he didn’t want the offer, so it just adds another roadblock for LSU to keep Haven home.

Haven was named the 2024 MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year after completing 193 of 321 passes (60.7%) for 3,093 yards, 37 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also rushed for 925 yards and 19 touchdowns. Amazingly, his freshman season may have been even more impressive, as he completed 122 of 180 passes (67.7%) for 2,205 yards, 35 touchdowns and only three interceptions.
