In today’s Fact or Fiction — Recruiting Edition — I look at three big recent topics from the recruiting trail and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. TAMU QB Anthony Maddox is underrated.
Farrell’s take: FACT
He’s raw. He has trouble seeing the field sometimes. But Maddox is a 4 star kid to me and he will be for the other sites soon as well. He can move, extend the play and has some Kellen Mond in him. And while some may laugh at that, it’s not a bad thing for Jimbo Fisher as he had good success with Mond.

2. Warren Roberson puts Texas in the top two for 2023.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
The Longhorns added yet another 4 star to their great 2023 class with the talented safety signing after a long commitment to TCU. However, I still have them at No. 3 overall behind Alabama and Georgia respectively. It’s close as UGA doesn’t have a QB in this class and Texas has Arch Manning and maybe if I was higher on Manning it would happen. But they’re still a shade behind the two SEC powers.

3. Walker White has 5 star potential.
Farrell’s take: FACT
After Dylan Raiola and Julian Sayin, the 2024 QB class is down compared to 2023 which was one of the deepest years in recent memory. White has size, he can move and he has the intangibles to be very good. He forces the ball with that big arm but for a 220 pound kid to run a 4.5 and be so dangerous on the ground, he’s rare. He’s not a five star yet until I see better decisions and professions but he’s damned good.
