In today’s Fact or Fiction — Recruiting Edition — I look at three big recent topics from the recruiting trail and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Cormani McClain’s silence means Colorado isn’t a lock.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
I think this is done. I can’t see Miami continuing to push here and I think Alabama is out. And I think McClain loved his visit to Colorado and learning from Deion Sanders is very attractive. A decision was supposed to be announced Jan. 15 but that didn’t happen and with McClain anything is in play but I’d be surprised if he wasn’t teaming up with Travis Hunter next season.

2. Jaden Rashada should go to Arizona State.
Farrell’s take: FACT
He likely won’t, but it’s a good fit. Kenny Dillingham had a great connection with Rashada early in the process, Rashada’s dad went to Arizona State and playing time is available with Drew Pyne as the guy there now. The problem? NIL. Arizona State has NIL money, but I’m not sure Dillingham wants to go too far down that road as a new coach trying to build culture. Maybe Rashada is worth that but he can probably get more money elsewhere.

3. Julian Sayan will flip to Ohio State.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
Make no mistake this could get intriguing especially if Bill O’Brien heads off to the NFL. Sayin is locked in at Alabama but the Ohio State offer for the 5 star QB has to make him think a bit. The offense at Ohio State is perfect for him, they are recruiting wide receivers better than anyone and he’d have to at least listen. But to me he’s going to end up at Alabama.
