In today’s Fact or Fiction — Recruiting Edition — I look at three big recent topics from the recruiting trail and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. RB Dante Dowdell will flip to Ole Miss.
Farrell’s take: FACT
He loves his current commitment to Oregon, but the OC change could hurt them as he liked Kenny Dillingham a ton. Lane Kiffin is pushing very hard and there’s a chance he visits this weekend as there is local pressure to flip to Ole Miss. I think he ends up staying home.
2. DE Kelby Collins will stick with Florida.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Alabama is coming at the Gators commit hard now but let’s remember this, Florida was on him hard when ‘Bama was lukewarm. He hails from the state of Alabama but I think this could be too little too late.
3. WR Taeshaun Lyons picks Notre Dame.
Farrell’s take: FACT
While he likes Oregon, Washington and Miami, his official visit to Notre Dame and numerous family connections there have their comfort level off the charts. The four-star WR from California also took a visit to Washington and will try to visit Oregon but with the offensive coordinator change they have slipped. Colorado just offered but that’s doubtful.
