1. The Gators could take a recruiting hit due to DEI.
Farrell’s take: FACT
When Florida Governor Ron DeSantis defunded diversity, equity, and inclusion for state schools it was assumed those schools would simply fund DEI themselves. So when the University of Florida closed its DEI offices and laid off more than a dozen people on March 1, it was shocking. The NAACP has been public about this, as has former Florida great Emmitt Smith. This is terrible PR for the Gators and the last thing they need with Billy Napier on the hot seat coming off two losing seasons and heading into a brutal 2024 schedule. The NAACP has been as bold as stating that black athletes should not attend schools like Florida.

2. TE Nate Roberts stays home at Oklahoma.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
The Oklahoma TE has a final five with the Sooners high on the list, along with Ohio State, Oregon, Ole Miss, and Penn State, and the Sooners have a good shot. Roberts will be at the Ohio State spring game and taking an official in July. His other official visits will be Ole Miss April 27-29, Penn State May 31-June 2, Oregon June 14-16, and Oklahoma June 21-23. So, with an extra visit to Columbus and the Buckeyes getting the last official, I like Ohio State’s chances here.

3. WR Dakorien Moore sticks with LSU.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Oregon is going to be a real threat here for the Texas 5-star, but a recent visit to LSU solidified his commitment quite a bit, from what I’m told. Ohio State and Texas are also threats, and I think the Ducks will tempt him, but right now, I’m confident in LSU to keep his commitment.
