In today’s Fact or Fiction — Recruiting Edition — I look at three big recent topics from the recruiting trail and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. Jelani McDonald picks Texas this weekend.

Farrell’s take: FACT

The NBC Bowl or Army Bowl or whatever it’s called now is this weekend and the elite Texas athlete will choose between Texas, TCU and Oklahoma State. He’s already signed and indications appear to be that he will line up for Texas as a defensive back who could grow into a linebacker. He was committed to Oklahoma State before and TCU is obviously hot, but he will be another great addition to this epic Texas class.

2. Clemson develops the defensive line better than anyone.

Farrell’s take: FACT

It keeps amazing me. Peter Woods is the latest example of a kid who chose Clemson and I’m confident will turn into a first rounder. From Christian Wilkins to Dexter Lawrence to Bryan Bresee and Myles Murphy, Clemson doesn’t whiff. Alabama may produce more and Ohio State may have bigger names but Clemson just efficiently pumps out elite DL year after year.

Oct 8, 2022; Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, USA; Clemson Tigers defensive end Myles Murphy (98) rushes against the Boston College Eagles during the second quarter at Alumni Stadium.

3. Adepoju Adebawore has the highest ceiling in this class.

Farrell’s take: FACT

This dude is 6-4, 240 pounds and as long as they come as a rush end. The Kansas City product is raw as heck but you can’t teach his physical skills, it’s just impossible. So by ceiling I mean the player who is furthest from his potential now and can climb the highest. This kid has first round NFL potential. Oklahoma has a steal here.
