In today’s Fact or Fiction — Recruiting Edition — I look at three big recent topics from the recruiting trail and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. TE Landen Thomas is a muscle flex flip for FSU.
Farrell’s take: FACT
The one-time FSU commit seemed to cave under in-state pressure when he flipped to UGA after an offer, but he’s back where he wants to be with a commitment to Mike Norvell and FSU. And while Georgia will be just fine at TE and everywhere else, it’s a big win for Norvell. Thomas is the No. 1 TE in the country, and his commitment sends a message to the rest of the Southeast. FSU is for real in recruiting after a huge on-field season.

2. RB Jerrick Gibson will land at Texas.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Just like Florida RB Cedric Baxter Jr. last year, Gibson loves Austin more each time he visits, and this was his third unofficial in the last ten months. An official visit in late June could seal the deal, as I’ve had the Longhorns as his leader for a while, and it’s even stronger now.

3. Arkansas will land both Courtney Crutchfield and Charleston Collins.
Farrell’s take: FACT
The WR and DE have many suitors and like schools like Ole Miss, LSU, and Auburn, but the two in-state stars would like to play together and absolutely love the Arkansas staff. It’s early, but this is a package deal Sam Pittman wins in my book.
