In today’s Fact or Fiction — Recruiting Edition — I look at three big recent topics from the recruiting trail and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. Billy Napier showed up Lane Kiffin.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Kiffin trolled Napier and the Gators when he flipped newly classified 2023 QB Austin Simmons with this tweet:

It was a clear reference to the Gators’ recruiting woes of late. So what did Napier do? He’s landed five commitments in the last three days led by 4-star DE Amaris Williams, 4-star LB Aaron Chiles, and 4-star TE Amir Jackson. The Gators now have a top 10 recruiting class in 2024 and even with some QB issues, they have super recruit DJ Lagway coming in as well. All is good, for now, for Napier.

2. Ohio State hangs on to Jeremiah Smith.
Farrell’s take: FACT
The 5-star WR is visiting Miami, Florida State, and Penn State this week, and he’s been to UGA quite a bit as well in addition to Florida. Is Ohio State worried? Nah. The Buckeyes are well aware of his visits, and Brian Hartline and Ryan Day aren’t worried as Smith has been a long-time commitment and knows what the Buckeyes have to offer. I think he sticks in the end.

3. WR Ny Carr sticks with UGA.
Farrell’s take: FACT
Florida State and teammate Landen Thomas are making a push and continue to do so, but it appears Carr will stick with UGA barring something unforeseen. Maybe if Smith flips to UGA he would bolt, but I don’t see that happening. Right now, Carr is firmly part of this UGA class.
