Ohio is home to ten top-250 nationally ranked players on the 2025 recruiting trail.  Some updates on one player’s commitment date, and where some others are trending:

OT Carter Lowe

Toledo, OH

· The 6’5 290 lb. four star offensive lineman currently holds 22 offers including offers from Alabama, Michigan, Tennessee, and Ohio State.

· Lowe is versatile, seen as a player that can be a multiyear starter at offensive tackle or on the interior offensive line. Lowe also throws shotput and plays basketball, showing off the athleticism needed to be successful given his size.

· Lowe took multiple visits last fall, including down south to Tennessee and Alabama as well as a visit to Michigan. Lowe ahead of his decision day on January 27th attended Ohio State’s junior day on January 20th. All signs here lead to a win by offensive line coach Justin Frye and the Buckeyes, but even after a commitment this Saturday I expect teams to continue pursuing Lowe.

Early Prediction: Ohio State

ATH/S Trey McNutt

Cleveland, OH

· The 6’0 180 lb. four star athlete currently holds 33 offers including offers from Ohio State, Wisconsin, Miami, and most recently Oregon.

· With a personal best 10.82 speed in the 100M dash, McNutt shows top end speed that you would want from any position, especially safety. McNutt could also be a valuable weapon in any team’s punt and kick return squads.

· McNutt also has his own YouTube channel highlighting his recruitment if you wanted to take a closer look: https://youtu.be/jmlrLxu8LcE?si=YhzLOkY0Fh3jvvHY

· Look for McNutt’s recruitment to ramp up as he just took a visit to Ohio State on January 20thand is visiting Miami on January 27th. McNutt was impressed with Ohio State’s new safety hire Matt Guerrieri, making the Buckeyes an early favorite, but do not count out Mario Cristobal and his staff to make an impression, with Miami also having the potential to see the field earlier given Ohio State’s current depth at safety.

Early Prediction: Miami

QB Ryan Montgomery

Findlay, OH

· The 6’3 215 lb. four star quarterback currently holds 27 offers including offers from Georgia, South Carolina, Auburn and Michigan State.

· In Montgomery’s 2023 junior campaign, he posted a 71% completion percentage, 3,377 passing yards and 38 touchdowns. Montgomery also won the QB Accuracy challenge at Under Armour’s Future 50 camp.

· Montgomery was recently on campus at Georgia and South Carolina, while many other schools have been coming to Findlay to court him in person including Florida head coach Billy Napier. This one seems wide open, but I think Shane Beamer and South Carolina may have an early edge.

Early prediction: South Carolina

WR Quintin Simmons Jr.

Cincinnati, OH

· The 6’0 175 lb. wide receiver holds 16 offers including a top 6 of schools he just released including: West Virginia, Kentucky, Penn State, Michigan, Cincinnati and Syracuse.

· Simmons is a track athlete, posting a 10.76 100M dash showing top end speed you like to see from any wide receiver. Simmons has also taken snaps at running back.

· Simmons as stated has released a top 6, and was recently at Cincinnati’s junior day. I would anticipate more visits before coming to a decision but Scott Satterfield and Cincinnati appear to be making a strong run at Simmons.

Early Prediction: Cincinnati
