Names in the News

–Rodrick Pleasant, CB, Gardena, California (Junipero Serra HS), #86 nationally, #9 cornerback, and #7 in CA

Rodrick Pleasant has named his top five schools and announced that he will now make his commitment on February first. The four-star Gardena (CA.) cornerback is one of the highest uncommitted recruits in this year’s class. His top five schools are the Boston College Eagles, California Golden Bears, Oregon Ducks, UCLA Bruins, and USC Trojans. However, the Trojans are the favorite, and Pleasant will have an official visit with them this weekend. He will be a Trojan when he announces his commitment.

–Jayden Bradford, 2024 QB, Bradenton, Florida (IMG Academy), #115 nationally, #9 quarterback, and #19 in FL

Four-star 2024 Florida quarterback Jayden Bradford received an offer from the Alabama-Birmingham Blazers on Monday. He holds eight power-five offers, and the South Carolina Gamecocks are now the favorites to land him. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has them with a 49% chance of landing him, followed by the Penn State Nittany Lions at 37% and the NC State Wolfpack at 11%. However, I like the Nittany Lions here.

After a great conversation with @QB_CoachColeman I am BLESSED and HONORED to receive and offer from UAB‼️‼️@UAB_FB @DilfersDimes pic.twitter.com/CRupf3ePnv

–Jaylen Heyward, 2024 S, Rockledge, Florida (Rockledge HS), #34 nationally, #3 safety, and #9 in FL

Jaylen Heyward will announce his decision this Friday, January 13th. The 2024 four-star safety from Rockledge (FL.) announced his top six schools in October. These schools were the Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Tennessee Volunteers. However, the Colorado Buffaloes are a team that is now in the mix as well.

“I will be announcing my commitment Friday, January 13th, I was thinking about taking some visits and listening to some other schools, but I am ready.”

The On3 RPM has a close race between the Gators and Bulldogs. Florida has a 51% chance of landing him, while the Bulldogs are at 43%. I like the Bulldogs here.

–Jeremiah McClellan, 2024 WR, St. Louis, Missouri (Christian Brothers College), #182 nationally, #30 wide receiver, and #4 in MO

Jeremiah McClellan has over 30 offers and hopes to have a top 10 or 12 list in the spring. However, he already knows which three teams will make the cut. The 2024 four-star St. Louis (MS.) wide receiver said the Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Tennessee Volunteers would be on that list. He said,

“I have visited Michigan twice, Ohio State once, and the communication with Tennessee has been strong. I will be taking my first visit to Tennessee this weekend. All three schools have shown me a lot, and I know they will be up there for me.”

Those schools should be considered his top three schools right now.

2024 4-star WR Jeremiah McClellan is working towards his first cut and three schools have secured their spot on it.

–Maurice Williams Jr., 2024 LB, Pearland, Texas (Shadow Creek HS), #84 nationally, #8 linebacker, and #14 in TX

Maurice Williams, a 2024 four-star linebacker from Pearland (TX.), received an offer from the Texas A&M Aggies on Monday. He is an LSU Tiger commit who has been committed to them since June. Williams chose the Tigers over offers from the Arkansas Razorbacks, Baylor Bears, Florida State Seminoles, Michigan Wolverines, Michigan State Spartans, Ole Miss Rebels, Oregon Ducks, TCU Horned Frogs, and USC Trojans. He has made some trips to College Station and attended their Junior Day last January 22. So, LSU shouldn’t be too worried, but I would not sleep on the Aggies here.
