Names in the News

–5-star OT Samson Okunlola, Thayer Academy, Brockton, Massachusetts.

Samson Okunlola is the No. 18 overall. No. 3 offensive tackle and No. 1 player in Massachusetts. He is one of the few remaining five-star recruits that are still available. The 247 Sports Crystal Ball and On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine have the Miami Hurricanes as the leader for him. But the Florida Gators are a program trying to make a move for him. He was in Gainesville this week and got to meet some players and got to meet with offensive coordinator Rob Sale, offensive line coach Darnell Stapleton, as well as head coach Billy Napier. I still like the Hurricanes here, despite the visit with the Gators and his upcoming official visit to the Horsehoe on November 26 for the big game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines.

–5-star 2024 WR Ryan Wingo, University High School, St. Louis, Missouri.

Ryan Wingo is the No. 14 overall, No. 3 wide receiver, and No. 1 player in Missouri in the class of 2024. He will be in Death Valley this weekend when the Clemson Tigers host the Miami Hurricanes. However, Wingo has not received an offer from the Tigers but has communicated with them since April, primarily wide receivers coach Tyler Grisham.

“Their coach, he’s been on me. They’re recruiting me really well. They haven’t offered me, but I talk to the coach like every other day. He(‘s) on me like every day about getting me up there. So I finally was like, I’ll put them in my little schedule I have.”

It is only a matter of time before the Tigers offer him, and it could be this weekend when he is there. Once that happens, Clemson will be a team to watch in his recruitment process.

–4-star 2024 QB Jayden Bradford, IMG Academy, Bradenton, Florida.

Jayden Bradford, the No. 115 overall, No. 9 quarterback, and No. 19 player in Florida in the class of 2024 named his top four schools on Thursday. They are the Louisville Cardinals, NC State Wolfpack, Penn State Nittany Lions, and the South Carolina Gamecocks. He was at Happy Valley over the summer for Lasch Bash, where he worked with offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Mike Yurcich and coach Danny O’Brien. The Nittany Lions will be the team to watch for him.

–4-star 2024 RB Jordan Washington, Jordan High School, Long Beach, California.

Jordan Washington is the No. 136 overall, No. 11 running back, and No. 16 player in California for the 2024 class. He has offers from the Arizona Wildcats, Colorado State Rams, Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, Fresno State Bulldogs, Oregon Ducks, San Jose State Spartans, and Washington State Cougars. Washington will be in Tucson this weekend on an unofficial visit when the Wildcats host the Cougars. Arizona was the first school to offer him back in May. Even though it is very early in the process, the Wildcats are the frontrunners due to his relationship with running backs coach Scottie Graham.

–3-star IOL Nathan Efobi, South Forsyth High School, Cumming, Georgia.

Nathan Efobi, the No. 461 overall, No. 31 interior offensive lineman, and No. 44 player in Georgia, committed to the Michigan Wolverines on Friday afternoon. He chose them over the Boston College Eagles, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Kansas Jayhawks, Louisville Cardinals, Miami Hurricanes, NC State Wolfpack, Penn State Nittany Lions, and Vanderbilt Commodores, among others. With his commitment, the Wolverines now have the No. 24 overall recruiting class and the third in the Big Ten.
