We’ll keep the scouting reports rolling on top prospects from across the country.

Fletcher Westphal – OT

Leesburg, VA (Tuscarora High School)

Offensive line prospect that has good height and size. Solid speed and athleticism to get to the next level on running plays. Very good strength and can move defenders off of the POA when serving as a lead blocker. Good finish to drive the defender back and the strength to drive the defender to the ground. In pass pro he has a good anchor and sets the pocket well. He is a smart player does a good job adjusting to delayed blitzes and stunts.

Plays high and relies on his strength when blocking. He will need to improve on his target and hand placement as he tends to get outside of the defender which can result in holding penalties. Versatile athlete that played both offensive and defensive line at the high school level. Good prospect who’s skillset translates well to the physical run style systems of the SEC. Should find himself in the rotation quickly and develop into a reliable starting offensive lineman.

Asaad Brown – DB

Chesapeake, VA (Oscar Smith High School)

Defensive back prospect with good speed and size. Very good play recognition, diagnoses plays well and is able to break down and make plays on the ball carrier. Reads screens well and is able to get into the backfield to make the play before blockers can get in place. Good at shedding blocks, uses his good strength to get separation on the blocker and positions himself well to make the play. Solid reliable tackler that consistently gets the ball carrier to the ground. Gets a good bump off the LOS in press man and can knock the WR off of their route. Solid in man coverage, keeps good position on the WR and utilizes his speed to maintain his position. Very good in zone coverage, takes very good breaks on the ball to get PBUs and INTs.

Adequate hands, occasionally drops the ball and only comes down with the ball when uncontested. Much better in zone than man. Mostly played CB at the high school level but skillset would translate well to the Safety position and he could play either if needed. Good prospect who’s skillset translates well to the run heavy styles of the SEC where he can be a supporting tackler while breaking up screens and showing off his zone coverage skills. Should find himself in the rotation quickly and develop into a reliable starting DB.

Cam’Ron Warren – OT

Chesapeake, VA (Western Branch High School)

Offensive line prospect that has good height and size. Good athleticism and speed to get to the next level on running plays and pull block. Good strength and can move the defender off the spot at the point of attack. Works well on double teams and is able to work his way up to the second level after giving his teammate an advantage. Good in pass protection, sets the pocket well and has a good anchor. Locks down when getting pushed back and stops the defender’s momentum. Smart player that adjusts well to delayed blitzes and stunts.

Needs to improve on his hand placement and body positioning when blocking at the second and third level, smaller and more athletic defenders are able to get around him to make plays in the backfield. Occasionally used as a blocking TE and could be the lead blocker from any position across the line on pull plays. Good prospect who’s skillset translates well to the physical run style systems of the SEC. Should find himself in the rotation quickly and develop into a reliable starting offensive lineman.

Chanz Wiggins – WR

King George, VA (King George High School)

Wide Receiver prospect that also plays basketball. Good speed and explosiveness off the LOS. Gets a good release off the line against Zone and Off coverage. Smart player that quickly identifies coverages and know when to sit down in zone coverage. Understands how to work back to the QB to provide an outlet for the QB when they are in trouble. Very good ball tracking, positions himself well to make the catch and makes it difficult on the defender to make a play. Good YAC ability and is a threat to score from any part of the field. Has both speed and power moves that he can use to get the defender off of him to gain additional yards. Good courage and is willing to make contested catches in the middle of the field. Good and willing blocker in the running game.

Ran limited routes in high school due to his offensive scheme and play-calling. Versatile player that can make plays from all 3 WR spots and can be the “gadget” wide receiver to take handoffs if an offense is looking for those types of plays. Good prospect that has the skillset to contribute on any team, but the pass heavy teams of the ACC would be the best fit for his skillset. Should find himself in the rotation quickly and develop into a reliable starting wide receiver.
