We’ll keep the scouting reports rolling on top prospects from across the country.

Kevin Heywood – OT

Warminster, PA (Archbishop Wood High School)

OT prospect that has very good height and size. Uses his size combined with his very good strength to move defenders off the LOS. Good aggressive blocker when attacking run plays, he can turn the defender to create openings for the ball carrier. Fits in double teams off the line and can create leverage allowing his teammates to work up to the second level. Solid set in pass pro with a good anchor stopping the defender’s momentum and setting the pocket. He has good placement and body positioning when setting up the block.

Adequate athletic ability that can prevent him from reliably getting to the second level on running plays and through his set against faster edge rushers. He has some position versatility playing at the OT and OG positions on offense but translates better as an OT due to his size. A good overall prospect that will be a good addition to any offensive scheme. He would be a good addition to the Big 10 where he can use his run-blocking skills right away and continue to develop in his pass pro. Should work his way into the rotation and develop into an every-down player.

Tre McLeod – RB

Wyncote, PA (Cheltenham High School)

RB prospect with adequate height and good size. Good athletic ability and speed. He is a physical runner that has very good strength, he will consistently run through contact and is rarely brought down by the initial tackler. A smart ball carrier that can read the blocks and find the open zone or gap also understands when to bounce to the edge and has the speed to get to the outside. Good and willing blocker in the passing game, he understands how to attack the immediate threat and positions himself well to make the play. Effective lead blocker in the run game.

He was typically used as a blocker in the passing game so he had limited opportunities to show his hands and route running ability out of the backfield. Versatile player that has taken snaps as an option QB as well as playing SAF on defense. A good overall prospect that will be a good addition to any offensive scheme. He would be a good addition to a balanced team in the Big 12 where he can show off his skills as a ball carrier and in pass pro. Should work his way into the rotation and develop into an effective role player at the next level.

Deshon Dodson – DL

Philadelphia, PA (Neumann Goretti High School)

DL prospect that has good height and size. Good strength that he can leverage to create separation from the blocker. Very good at shedding blocks, he can get extended and slip off of the defender to make plays in the backfield. Smart player that understands where the offense is trying to attack and positions himself well to make plays. Solid athletic ability and speed. Good against inside runs, has a good first step and gets into the backfield quickly. Good reliable tackler that will consistently get the ball carrier to the ground.

Plays high and will occasionally stand up at the snap giving up leverage off the LOS. He has some versatility on the DL but will translate better as an interior DT or 3-4 end where can rely more on his size and strength. A solid prospect that will be a good addition to any defense and would excel in the Big 10 where he can show his skills against the more run-heavy teams in the conference. Should work his way into the rotation and develop into an every-down player at the next level.

Jordan Thomas – DL

Ramsey, NJ (Don Bosco Prep)

DL prospect that has very good height and size. Good strength that he can leverage to create separation from the blocker. Solid athletic ability and speed. Good at shedding blocks, he can get extended and get off defenders to make plays in the backfield. Smart player that understands where the offense is attacking and knows when to put his hands in the throwing lane to generate PBUs. He understands when the offense is running screens and gets into position to make plays on the receiver. Good run stuffer that can make plays in the backfield. Good reliable tackler that will consistently get the ball carrier to the ground.

Takes false steps off the LOS that slow down his pass rush in blitzing situations. He has some versatility on the DL but will translate better as an interior DT where he can rely more on his size strength. A solid prospect that will be a good addition to any defense. He will be a good addition to the SEC where he can use his skills against the more run-heavy teams in the conference. Should work his way into the rotation and develop into an every-down player at the next level.
