We’ll keep the scouting reports rolling on the latest big commitments across the country.
Jonah Wilson – Dekaney, TX
Committed to Houston
WR that committed to Houston over many P5 schools including TAMU, Ohio State, and Texas. Good frame and adequate length with good speed and elusiveness, solid explosiveness, and solid vertical. Very good footwork off the snap and at the top of his routes; takes the quick step to misdirect instead of playing around with the defender. High-points the ball and has a very good catch radius. Strong through the catch and does not drop the ball or get rattled if hit. Good play strength and can run through weaker defenders and utilize a good stiff arm to gain additional yards in the open field. Takes what he can get from plays.
Not the best athlete in the world and isn’t going to take the top off the defense or jump over a defender for a catch. Does not run sharp routes. Good pickup for Houston, good player who is incredibly aware of his body and the space around him.

Marvin Burks Jr. – Cardinal Ritter College Prep, MO
Committed to Ole Miss
Safety prospect that had the attention of nearly every program in America. Very good frame and solid length with very good strength, good speed and explosiveness, and solid vertical. Willing to come down and hit runners. Delivers strong hits that make the ballcarrier more timid with their runs. Takes good angles. Good timing on blitzes, knows when to be patient and fill an open gap instead of immediately crashing into a blocker. Good man coverage ability, has the athleticism to be sticky in coverage and watches the receiver’s body language to know when to turn his head. Good ball skills, can catch most passes thrown his direction. Plays WR as well and has plenty of tools to create after an interception or fumble.
Doesn’t appear to be keying plays and reacts and relies on his athleticism instead. Slower to read the field than most safeties and can find himself a step away from where he needs to be in zone coverage. Very good pickup for Ole Miss, may have some growing pains at first but hard to find someone who moves as well as him and wants to come down and hit people. Like him better as a Nickel or SS than a FS given his skillset.
Marvin Burks was favored by On3, 247Sports and Rivals to commit to Mizzou. The Cardinal Ritter defensive back committed to Ole Miss.

Malachi Coleman – Lincoln East, NE
Committed to Nebraska
Two-way starter at WR and LB that should play WR at the next level. Elite frame and length with very good speed, explosiveness, vertical, and short area quickness. Good footwork off the line to get around press coverage. Athleticism allows him to create separation at the top of his routes and maintain it after his break. Soft hands and high-points the ball. Huge threat in the open field, good stiff arm and spin moves to complement his elite athletic ability. Maintains leverage on blocks despite height. Good competitive toughness, willing to block and can tell he loves the game and just wants to win.
Needs to fill out more but a college lifting program should fix that. Pedigree is a concern, not able to tell if he’s processing fast enough considering the talent he’s playing. Needs to run sharper routes to take full advantage of his athleticism. Very good pickup for Nebraska, extremely high ceiling with his athletic tools that will just need a year or two to adjust his technique for the next level.

Chris Peal – Providence Day, NC
Committed to Georgia
Good frame with adequate length and good athleticism across the board. Keys the play before the snap and adjusts himself as needed. Reads the QB’s eyes and puts himself in position to make a play on the ball instead of staring down the receiver. Clear he is doing film study; consistently jumps routes with success. Solid ball skills, not always going to make the big play but consistent enough you can trust him in zone or man. Understands his assignments against the run and covers the outside. Sheds blocks quickly. Reliable tackler in the flat against the run and in the open field.
Good athlete but not the barnburner you usually see at the SEC level – play speed not matching the stats that have been reported for him. Plays a lot of Zone and will need to be reprogrammed to an advanced defense with more man concepts. Good program fit for Georgia given his football IQ but will probably need to take 2 years to catch up to their standard of play.
BREAKING: 4-star CB prospect Chris Peal has made his college decision.
He's a fast young man with sub 4.4 speed in the 40. https://t.co/NPPLtSKgEl pic.twitter.com/F7HAz7ivPq
