At 6-foot-4, 300 pounds, 2026 offensive lineman Hunter McKinney is one of the top prospects in the recruiting hotbed of Texas.
A leader on the field for Lake Creek High School in Montgomery, Texas, McKinney is a versatile player who can play multiple positions along the offensive line. His football pedigree comes from being the son of a pro.
McKinney’s father, Steve, played for RC Slocum at Texas A&M and was named second-team All-Big 12 in 1997 and was named to the All-Rookie Team in 1998 by the Pro Football Writers of America as a member of the Indianapolis Colts. Steve played 11 years in the NFL.

As a prospect that can play anywhere along the offensive line, McKinney is very physical and possesses a high football IQ. His size and frame will translate perfectly to the Division I level.

McKinney plays with a physicality that is coveted by college coaches. With a low center of gravity, he dominates his opposing blockers.
In addition, McKinney possesses good footwork in both the run game and in pass blocking. McKinney puts in the work. He trains hard and plays hard.
McKinney excels in the classroom as well and maintains a 4.125 GPA.
