Teams that didn’t use the portal enough this cycle…
1. Clemson
— Is it shocking that Dabo didn’t add anyone through the portal? Nope. But it could become a problem as teams like FSU and potentially Louisville lean on the portal and could pass his program in the ACC.

2. Michigan
— Sherrone Moore was a culture hire so it’s not surprising they didn’t lose much in the portal and didn’t need to add much. But a couple of positions could have used a bit of experienced depth.

3. Iowa
— Iowa doesn’t use the portal much and are more known for the loss of Kadyn Proctor this cycle. Kirk Ferentz is stubborn and old school and he seemed to regress a bit in portal pursuit and activity.

4. Maryland
— Mike Locksley is a great recruiter so it’s puzzling to see him use the portal so infrequently this cycle. Locksley wants to build from the ground up and add more culture but I bet he could have won a few more portal battles had he wanted to.

5. Penn State
— Maybe James Franklin has been burned too much? Guys like Storm Duck and Dante Cephas were big names and didn’t do much of anything with Duck leaving without playing a game. Franklin is a great recruiter and could focus on high school even more now.
