Godfather's Take on Latest Big Commitments

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Here’s my take on some recent commitments for some programs in the 2023 and 2024 classes.

They don’t get much bigger than OL Zechariah Owens from Georgia who is almost 6-8 and 360 pounds. Wow. He’s a project but you can’t teach size.

Huge OL Paris Patterson is a great get from Illinois and I like the size of DB TJ Metcalf from Alabama even if Bama and Auburn didn’t offer.

Dave Aranda continues his hot recruiting with elite local OL Isaiah Robinson and let’s not overlook punter Palmer Williams who has a big leg.

Brian Kelly is on a roll with five commitments since the start of the month and he’s been recruiting nationally with 4 stars from Maryland, Indiana, and Minnesota. I’m not sure if the Midwest should be a focus but DE Joshua Mickens and TE Jaxon Howard are talented.

North Carolina

UNC has been on a roll with five commits since the month started and WR Christian Hamilton and DE Jaybron Hardy are crucial in-state keeps.

Notre Dame

The Irish continue on a crazy run of recruiting greatness by adding help at DB, WR, and OL. Corners Christian Gray and Micah Bell bring speed and are from important recruiting areas (Missouri and Houston, Texas respectively) while California WR Rico Flores Jr. has good size. But I love OT Charles Jagusah the most of the recent commits because he’s massive and nasty and Notre Dame landed him from Illinois where they used to run things.

IMG tight end Riley Williams was a nice get but landing 5-star OT Francis Mauigoa from IMG was simply epic. That kid is a monster.

The Tigers may only have four commitments but all four are four-stars to me. RB Jeremiah Cobb and WR Karmello English are two very important in state keeps.

Anytime you can steal a recruit from Georgia it’s a big deal, so flipping massive OG Ryqueze McElderry made news. The local OL became a priority for Nick Saban and company, and dreamed of playing for Bama.

Any time Iowa lands a tight end I take notice and Missouri’s Zach Ortwerth will be a star. And it was days and days ago but how about 5-star Kadyn Proctor? Keeping him in-state was crucial.

It’s not often that New Jersey standouts head to Austin so DT Sydir Mitchell is a big deal and a big kid at 6-6 and 335.

The Gators recruiting has been under fire some but DE TJ Searcy is a nice get from Georgia over Clemson and some others.

DB Christian Conyer is a nice get out of Kentucky over the Wildcats and Cardinals and they might have a big DE sleeper in Tyree Weathersby from Georgia.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
