The Class of 2027 isn’t on the minds of too many college football fans, but that won’t be the case with four fanbases as top quarterback Trae Taylor is set to make an early decision on Thursday.
Tomorrow, Taylor will be choosing amongst Illinois, LSU, Nebraska and Texas A&M. The 6-foot-3, 180-pounder from Carmel Catholic in Illinois, trimmed his list to the current final four after also collecting offers from top programs like Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Miami, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Oregon and Colorado.
Being from Illinois, he is most familiar with the Illini program after taking numerous visits to campus over the last two years. However, the last visit prior to his decision was to Nebraska, where he was just on campus at a few days ago for the Huskers’ Spring Game. This puts Nebraska in a very good position with Taylor’s decision looming.
As a sophomore in 2024, Taylor passed for 3,061 yards, 20 touchdowns and seven interceptions, while completing 67.7% of his passes He also rushed for 342 yards and four touchdowns.
While the Class of 2027 is still miles away, Nebraska fans are feeling optimistic about their chances. But will they still be happy on Thursday?
