Prospects in the News

–Jaden Rashada, QB, Pittsburg, California (Pittsburg HS), #82 nationally, #7 quarterback, and #6 in CA

Four-star Pittsburg (CA.) quarterback Jaden Rashada will be in Fort Worth this weekend for an unofficial visit with the TCU Horned Frogs. He is the No. 6 player in California and the top uncommitted quarterback in the class. Rashada is a former Florida Gator commit who was released from his National Letter of Intent and was also committed to the Miami Hurricanes at one time. He was in Tempe last weekend for a visit with the Arizona Sun Devils. The California Golden Bears and the Washington Huskies are two other teams who have also tried to pursue him. However, the 247 Sports Crystal Ball and On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine have the Hurricanes as the favorites to land him. That could be the case, but where he ultimately winds up is anyone’s guess. If I had to choose a school, the Hurricanes would not be the team to beat. It’s most likely he ends up at TCU, or in the Pac-12.

–Wendell Gregory, 2024 LB, Marietta, Georgia (Walton HS), #130 nationally, #12 linebacker, and #23 in GA

Four-star Marietta (GA.) linebacker Wendell Gregory committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks on Friday afternoon. He chose them over the Auburn Tigers, Missouri Tigers, North Carolina Tar Heels, and Tennessee Volunteers. He is the No. 23 player in Georgia, and the Gamecocks were the first team to offer him. Gregory was also in Columbia last weekend for the Gamecocks Junior Day. He said he chose South Carolina because of how hard they recruited him and also because of head coach Shane Beamer. He becomes the fourth recruit in a Gamecocks 2024 class ranked seventh overall.

–Austin Mack, 2024 QB, Folsom, California (Folsom HS), #355 nationally, #26 quarterback, and #32 in CA

Austin Mack has named his top five schools and his commitment date. The four-star quarterback from Folsom (CA.) has the California Golden Bears, Oregon Ducks, Oregon State Beavers, Stanford Cardinal, and Washington Huskies as his top five schools. Mack will announce his decision on February 1st. He is the No. 26 quarterback in the class and the No. 32 player in California. The 247 Sports Crystal Ball and the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine have the Huskies as the favorites to land him. The On3 gives them a 99% chance of doing so. So Mack will be a Husky come February 1st.

–Michael Uini, 2024 OT, Copperas Cove, Texas (Copperas Cove HS), #112 nationally, #6 offensive tackle, and #20 in TX

Four-star Copperas Cove (TX.) offensive tackle Michael Uini will be in Ann Arbor this weekend for an unofficial visit with the Michigan Wolverines. He is the No. 6 offensive tackle in the class and one of the top 20 players in Texas, and he named his top ten schools earlier this month. Those schools were the Alabama Crimson Tide, Baylor Bears, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, Michigan Wolverines, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Oregon Ducks, TCU Horned Frogs, Texas Longhorns, and USC Trojans. The Longhorns are the favorites, according to the On3 RPM, as they have a 43% chance of landing him. However, if his visit goes well in Ann Arbor, the Wolverines could jump right in the mix to land him.
