Junior Season Progression

“I feel like a big difference has been made between my sophomore and junior year. I have gotten a lot faster and stronger that is one big thing, and over time after playing more and more football I feel more experienced. Being able to create separation at the top of the route and make those tough catches.”
His progression has been incredible to watch. In his sophomore season, he had 18 receptions for 301 yards and a touchdown and compared to his junior season stats, he has done nothing but put on a show for coaches across the country.

Strengths In-Game
Despite his size at the receiver position, he is able to have the same production if not more compared to other receivers across the country. He talks about some of the strengths in games that coaches would notice and find them intrigued by his talents.
“I feel like I do a lot of things well but there is always room for improvement. Some specific things I think I’m pretty good at getting open. Blocking as well is something that I take as a point of emphasis. Being able to make plays after the catch is something that I can bring to the next level as well.”

Offseason Focus
With his junior season coming to a close, there are a few things he tells Mike Farrell Sports that he is looking to focus on in the offseason to prepare himself for his senior year.
“There is always room for improvement, and I wanna work on a lot of things. Being able to get out of breaks faster because I feel like separation is a huge thing. Going into my senior next year and college the window is going to get smaller and smaller so I definitely wanna get out of my breaks faster.”
The strides that the star wide receiver has been making have not gone unnoticed. Helping his team go deep into the playoffs this year to pick up steam in the recruiting world picking up three offers already with the new year underway.
Living the Dream
His recruitment is beginning to blossom as he heads into his final season of. high school football, Channing reflects with Mike Farrell Sports about getting his first offer and what it has been like living the dream so many high school athletes wish to do.
“It’s definitely a blessing and I know a lot of kids would kill to be in this position. If you were to tell [Me] Channing in 8th grade that you would have all these offers now and have the opportunity to play college ball his mind would be blown. It’s a great feeling but it takes a lot of work and lots of grinding”
His recruitment has been busy for the star receiver out of North Carolina. He has taken unofficial visits to NC State twice (March 24th/September 17th), Kentucky (October 8th), Michigan (October 29th), and Virginia Tech (November 5th) dating back to last year. Michigan, NC State, South Carolina, and Kentucky have been the main contenders thus far with more schools expected to get involved soon.
