Scouting Report

Solid height and size with a well-built athletic frame with room for additional mass. Very good foot quickness, lateral movement, good hand quickness, speed, and explosion. He has very good initial footwork and quickness in run blocking that allows him to be in position to win the block early. Good Gap blocker, creating good explosion in down, base, and double team blocks, with good grip and strength engaging the blocks with good leg drive. His athleticism allows him to Pull with good speed and timing, to kick out an EDGE defender, or to lead block to a linebacker. Very good blocking at the second level, with good angle processing and footwork to engage backers. Good Zone blocking, with good initial footwork to allow him to reach block outside edge defenders with good grip strength and ability to turn the defender, with good sustain while on the move. Good finish on all run bocks with good drive to move defenders out of his gap and solid balance to remain on his feet. Good pass protection, with good initial set points with very good foot quickness, and reaction to mirror the pass rush to keep a half-man relationship. Keeps his hands low and centered on his frame in his set and displays good hand quickness driving his hand up and through the chest of the pass rusher allowing him to quickly anchor himself and prevent walk back. He does rely on his initial quickness and strength to win blocks by throwing defenders to the ground and will need to develop an ability to refit his hands, and develop his use of hands against spin, swim, and defensive counter moves. Overall, a good prospect who will gain a lot of attention from Power-5 programs with the versatility to play tackle or guard and could become a starter by year two.
