Scouting Report

Curne is a multisport, 2-way athlete. Adequate size for a tackle at 6’4 300 pounds. Good size for a guard. Solid length. Very good athletic ability for his size. He displays very good speed, balance, lateral quickness, footwork, and play strength. Very good explosion off the ball. Very good strength at initial contact as well as during his drive phase. His quickness and explosion enable him to gain leverage on defenders. He utilizes his size and great upper body strength to engage defenders. Good hand speed and placement. Very good competitive toughness displayed through violent block finishes. Very good at gap blocking due to explosive and quick steps, as well as his overall play strength. He is very good at zone blocking due to his agility and speed. He is good at pull and reach blocking. As well as getting to the second level. Good in pass pro. Good at getting to set points with his footwork and agility. Very good at utilizing his hands to disrupt pass rushers balance. Good anchor ability. Solid and inconsistent pad level. Was often able to overpower smaller defenders with mostly upper body strength. Overall, Curne is a good prospect. Very athletic and strong, but with limited length. I believe he should be moved inside. He should be an early contributor and multiyear starter at a power 4 school.
